One of my silverstars the High Beam I think went out. Didn't last very long by the way, especially for as expensive as it was.

I think I want to go with one blue one white and I can't remember who had this on their bike.

Part number would be cool.

I think that may have been Reiobard .

I think he had HID on one side only.

I kept burning out Silverstars in my aftermarket headlights. I finally said screw it and bought an Extra Life bulb, and it's holding strong.

The silverstars are notorious for buring out quickly. It is the price of the higher output. The burn harder and live a shorter life.

I had silverstars in both H4 and H7 sockets, they both blew out within a week of each other, about 8 months after I installed them.

I put my silverstars in, around May, no problems yet.
When they blow, I'll just put new ones in. The extra light is worth it to me.

I have the PIAA Bulbs, they have a slight bluish tint. They are much brighter than the stock headlights. No issues as far as burning out, I have over 20,000 miles on these lbulbs.

Just hit a search on the internet and go onto their website and read about them.

If so it is just as mentioned, it is an HID conversion kit on the low beam side and the stock bulb on the high beam side (For now)

The low beam conversion kit is cheap and very easy to install.

this is about $65 shipped and it comes with 2 bulbs, 2 ballasts, and usually only 1 wiring harness, but with a little wiring it can very easily be used as 2 seperate kits, so you can split it with a friend and then both of you can have HID low beams for less than $65 each. Plus this kit also comes with the slim digital ballast that I ended up converting to (much better IMO)

Hi,

Are these HID conversions on the low beam one side and std bulbs on the high beam quite common? Just bought my bike and whilst the low beam is brilliant white the high beam is standard yellow and looks rubbish compared to the left side!!

I ran a Silverstar Ultra H7 on the low beam side from September 2008 until around August 2010. It lasted for about 8,000 miles if I remember correctly. I reinstalled the stock Philips H7 that came in the bike and it's still running. Not sure what I'll replace it with when it pops.
