So, it's the day of days, the race of races, the day the nation stops, etc, etc...

Who actually gives two hoots about the Melbourne Cup???

Is it just me, or is all the hype rather tiresome????

I enjoy it. Once a year bet, drinks/lunch at work, everyone's relaxed.

I wouldn't go to a race meeting, not my thing, but once a year I do enjoy the cup.

Mike's dad had a horse in the Melbourne cup back in 1990. "Our Magic Man". Qualified because it won the Newcastle Cup. Lead the race, we blinked, it came just about last LOL

The race itself I dont care much for. Its all the spin that sh#ts me too. But I understand that all the businesses that do well out of the whole shebang would hate to see it go. Its bigger than just the race.but is still just a horse race.

Don't really care for horseracing, or gambling for that matter. But I do enjoy a day at the races for some reason!

Keep in mind though , I havent tipped a cup winner since 2000 with Brew but boy was I a happy camper that day :cheer: :cheer: :iconbeer:

Dont read any of the hyped crap about the race , saying this horse is better than that horse.... They ALL deserve to be there , you dont accidentially qualify for a Melbourne Cup start :thumbup:

Well, i was driving home from my Mum's whilst the race was on...was awesome, roads were empty....must remember to go for a bike ride in the couple hours either side of the race next year...the roads will be mine....

Bring on the Melbourne Cup 2012!

Andyes, Adrian, you are right, is great for the economy....every pub i drove past today, was packed...That's gotta be a good thing!
