I have been thinking about trading up in the next year or so. I really like the FJR. However I looked at a 2009 concours 14 today. this bike has pure power it's basicly a zx14 with saddlebags:rockon:. both bikes are around the same price without abs

2009 FJR

which one would you buy??

FJR, it's a Yamaha!

The connie is a pig. Heard reports the tupperware is really $$ so don't drop it.

I've got 55k on my 04 and love it.

Never heard it called a Concours 14 before. Here it is a 1400 GTR.

Personally I'd get the FJR, although I have a couple of friends with the Kwak and they love it.

Ok first off it is not an zx14 with bags. It is retuned as a concours. Next it has heat issues in the crotch area. Also it maintenance requirements are more frequent than the fjr and valve adjustments are like a 6 hour deal. I have an 06 2nd gen. fjr and love it. It has some minor issues like all but I have 50k miles on it and it has been great. Runs on regular gas, I got 47 mpg yesterday and performance wise I did not see any difference between it and the connie. ABS is standard on the fjr and if you do get the connie please get the abs. Connie is a nice bike but I would not put it ahead of the fjr. I rode my friends and when I got off it I was glad I got the fjr. I would get a gen 2 fjr because the heat issues were corrected as were other little issues. Good luck with your choice. Just ride and ride safe. Everett

What he said!

Did I mention the Connie is a pig? :)

No doubt Yamaha builds a better product.

Go with the FJR.... I've ridden my brothers and wow, smooth quality engineering to say the least, shaft drive and all...
