So then. I'm bought a a cheap Kawasaki GT750 that I'm gonna make a bit chopper/rat/streetfighter. First decision is, which headlight. I've settled on two that look a bit like the one Wavex has. Only much cheaper. They both have built-in indicators, but on the first one I have below, I will replace the indicator bulbs with white bulbs and use normal arrow indicators. So it will be brighter than the second light and probably look better from the front, but I'll need to fit indicators to it (not a massive negative TBH).

I think I prefer the first headlight as I can get it to shine brighter. But I'd like to hear opinions/advice.

# 1 Looks a bit shady to me... I voted for # 2 as someone on this forum used it already and it looked cool... I am sure you can find it somewhere in the FZ6N pic thread or SF sub-forum...

Good luck with your project :)

Wow! Number two looks much more popular looking at the votes. TBH, I was more on the side of number one! Can whoever already has one of these on their bike post pics or links to threads on how it looks?

Thanks very much guys.

Oh yeah, and here is what I bought. Picking it up tonight. It's in really good nick and runs fine. Tiny bit of rust etc, steel braided lines, needs a new battery and seat re-covering. I was planning to take it all to bits and clean it from the inside out anyway!

As you're going to replace the bulbs in the first and use stalk mounted indicators,I've gone for no1.
No 2 looks too fussy for me.

I voted #1, I prefer the raised centre of the light, and I'm not a fan of the indicators on the 2nd one.

Cool project! Honestly, if it were up to me, I'd just go with a single round bucket headlight. I think they look the best on older bikes. I'm interested to see what one of these newer style headlights w/fairings attached looks like, though.

where are you getting these headlights? I would like to buy one of them as well perhaps if the price is right.

and yeah 2nd one is nicer.

can you provide links for these headlights? I have been looking for something like this with a mini fairing. I am just finishing up my own personal project. I bought a 2007 hayabusa headlight and mounted it on my 2009 fz6.

I basically looked at every single headlight on ebay. Dismissed all the ones that needed to be fitted into fairings and all the ones that looked like eyes and all those that cost more than £35. Was left with these. Several different sellers have them at different prices. You should be able to find them outside the UK I imagine.

I would like to add another selection to your list. Fz8 headlight! It looks pretty sweet.
Yeah, I'd love to put an FZ6N headlight on it, but I'm doing it on the cheap and they are all really expensive - even second-hand. I'll keep looking though. I want the bike to look finished and not like it's just lots of random bits bolted on and sticking out, so I want something like the ones I posted at the start or one from the FZ8 etc that is designed to be mounted on it's own. I'll probably end up getting the cheap ones though.
