Chaps came appart. They got sucked into my back tire and locked it up. I made my first payment on my new Victory Hammer S about three days after I got out of the hospital. Plano Texas, President George Bush Tollway just past I75 overpass.

Just some broke ribbs and the sholder blade. I could have easily been dead, or crippled. My Arei took the hits and I did not even get a head ache from the smashing. PROPER FITTING QUALITY GEAR. That was the first time I put a bike down in over 21 years of two wheeled motorized riding. I dont care "good" you are, or how safe a rider you THINK you are, no one is ammune from disaster.


The chaps were given to me. They were a little to big, but I did not think it was a big deal. The flapping (cause they were to big) caused the zipper to ride up. I started to pull over the moment they came apart. They flew back and got caught wound up between the rear brake rotor and the frame.

Moral of the story,,,,,,, Don't skimp on gear. Spend the money, and get what is rite for you. Proper fit is important.

I am looking for the guy who was driving the Dodge. He saved me.

Ouch! I feel bad for that guy. He thought he was protected for the most part and his protection screwed him over. Looked like a really painful fall. Hope he healed up well.

Incredible lucky guy.
I watched the rest of the video after he crushed on teh edge of my chair - I was pretty sure somebody will drive over him!
I can't believe the loose chaps will create such a terrible accident.

I wonder how many American flags, doorags, and wallet chains get caught in stuff in a given year? I saw a guy with a 3X5 foot American flag on the back of his bike, I looked like at a stop it could get into a wheel/fender area.

Wow, nice reaction out of the guy in the Ram... definitely the minority, he must be a rider or he left his cell phone is his pocket where it belongs.

Another word of caution: watch the white minivan at the beginning cross two lanes without a turn signal. Be safe out there and be vigilant.

Wow - I have a pair of chaps that are a little too big from my cruiser days, I'm throwing them out now. I prefer my riding pants anyway.
