'Father of the Electric Guitar' Les Paul Dies at 94

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. - Les Paul, the guitarist and inventor who changed the course of music with the electric guitar and multitrack recording and had a string of hits, many with wife Mary Ford, died on Thursday. He was 94.

According to Gibson Guitar, Paul died of complications from pneumonia at White Plains Hospital. His family and friends were by his side.

As an inventor, Paul helped bring about the rise of rock 'n' roll and multitrack recording, which enables artists to record different instruments at different times, sing harmony with themselves, and then carefully balance the "tracks" in the finished recording.

I just received a pkg from Amazon, which included Hiromi's new DVD "Sonicbloom", it's fantastic! I got onto EweTube and it looks like every track is already posted, I'm presenting this one as it's actually in HD, looks pretty good on my 24" iMac:

They still aren't paying jazz musicians enough, she's wearing designer clothing by Hefty(tm) and her hair was done by Edward WeedwackerHands, but she is just BEEMING and having so much fun, and plays like a mofo! I understand she's done a duet album with Chick Corea, that one would be absolutely hard to tell who's playing what, she plays so much like he does (precise, and playful).
