Who is this numpty?

Some w4nk3r crusader for useless drivers everywhere.

Funny thing is (well...not that funny) people on bikes are mainly getting killed in the 80 zones. The Bull and the 'D' road are two of the last holdouts and they are virtually accident free. How come, I wonder?

Was geocacheing by car with some friends yesterday, and nearly got to see a head on with a 4WD and horse trailer on the wrong side of the road (on a straight bit). Don't understand how this could happen. Everyone was under 80km/h, and conditions were perfect. Everyone was under 80 kays. WTF? How can you have an accident? It's going over 80 kays that causes all the accidents....isn't it?

Politics mate. Pure and simple. I don't know if the cops are fighting for what I'm sure they know is right, but I do know where most of the trouble is caused. Gov't. In our case here 1 do-gooder who can't drive is trying to get speeds dropped from 100 to 80. He admits that he can't handle a car at 100. He is a local politician.

Shouldn't that be an instant loss of licence. Don't let soeone who admits they are a danger to me on the road to keep trying to kill me.

If there is three roads from a to b he wants them all to be lowered. Why? Why don't they lower one and the incompetents can stick to that one? I reckon the death toll would be higher on those roads...lol.

I'll stop now before I rant...lol. (too late?):BLAA:

Can't handle a car at 100km/h.....
Everyone knows that most of the skill is at low speed unless your totally new to driving. Faster driving if generally pretty point and shoot, with a bit of braking here and there (bit of a simplification I know :P). Its just pure logic how to convert your low speed skills to high speed afterall, more buffer distance, greater braking distance.
+1 on taking HIS license away.
Its just a typical politician who is retarded and thinks the world should be changed for a tiny minority who shouldn't be doing something in the first place!
What we need is another politician asking why he has a license, and why someone who has confessed to not even being able to drive, should be able to represent australians.

On Wolfman's point, I don't hate police officers, they are doing their job, I hate the way the police force is run purely for political gain, and how so often the head honcho police are total idiots every time you see them on TV.
Honestly to me having some extremely old fat guy on TV in charge of the police just smacks on corruption, there should be lots of younger people moving up through the force displacing all the old windbags who generally seem to be living in the 1950's.
The same should be true of politics, but it just doesn't seem to be happening.
I think in some ways the older generation are partly afraid of what will happen when the transition of young people start moving into power, because lets be honest they have certainly helped keep the politicians beating us down at every opportunity, I don't think it will be something most young people consider when they are all voting, but they will definately remember the politicians who where leading the charge against every right a young (under 25) person has.

Its just this whole protectionism idea, take away anything and everything that could ever hurt anyone, and we will fix society! Right........;)

Well SA has done somehting right..

Atkinson has decided to **** off, but still has another 4 years.....

Typically South Australian, takes 4 years for anything to happen, after a decision is made, which took 6 years to get to, after the original idea was presented in 4 different ways, and that was discussed for 3 years before any hint of having something to decide upon....

And all of this, after the State probably needed it for 20 years, before anyone actually even realised the problem....

I do love SA, but we are sloooooow!

And how is it that the Building of a Sports stadium can become a major election issue!!!

Stuff footy & cricket, they have got decent stadiums already...build a bloody decent motorsport park instead...then the people who use the roads to race, stunt, drift, etc, might actually have somewhere to play...without getting their wallets raped, or getting hurt, cause they are doing it in the wrong places....

bugger...that's almost another rant! what has happened to this thread!!!

NO WOLFMAN THATS THE WRONG TYPE OF OIL COMPLETELY.

Ok thread back on track. :D

Everything is slow in Oz because politicians have realised they can just drag issues out between elections and try and get in again and again simply on the promise of something that will never happen!

well

I can get this thread back on track.

Saw a Repsol rep (**** I want one of their shirts)

I can get Repsol Moto Sintético 4T 10W40 in 4 litre containers. for $60..

Now the Repsol website, says I should get Repsol Moto Supersport 4T 10W30, but remember it is Europe based..

That's a pretty decent price, Motul 5100 is abut $80 for 4 litres (i think), and that is only semi synthetic, the Motul 7100, which is full synthetic is about $90 for 4 litres...

Repsol make their oil out of baby skins though.....

LMAO!

I don't want to start plugging my work too much, but an FYI, 5100 is $64.95 and 7100 is $89.95. If you get stuck finding it, we'll ship Aust-wide for $8 - easy to justify if you have anything else you need to order.

If I'm lucky I might be able to organise an FZ6-forum deal for certain things. If there's enough interest I'll find out if I can eg sus out free shipping for you guys.

I pay $57 for 5100 (don't buy 7100). We've bought XJR and FZ from the same Yamaha dealer in Joondalup - we get 10% off everying (including the new Yami screen I've just ordered :D)

Ha, yeah yeah I know. I was contemplating becoming a sponsored member hence the username, but just enjoying reading through at my own pace right now, and for my own interest.

If you can find a set of titanium headers from an R6 that i can fab up to fit the FZ6....(I have a welder champing at the bit to do the febrication), i would probably buy it off ya straight away...dont need a can, just the headers!

Also looking to get a Puig streetfighter headlight...but do ya reckon i can raise the distributor in Australia's awareness that i even exist...have made calls, sent e-mails....message bank everytime on the phone, no reply to e-mails...i even got the local Yammie dealer to try...no luck! roadrocket!

As for the 7100, That is actually becoming hard to find in Adelaide, at a decent price....and my local Yammie dealer tryed to tell me it did'nt exist the other day! I laughed very hard!

I would be happy to support a forum member, if the price is right.

Sussing out the header for you now, can you shoot me a link or pic of the actual Puig headlight to make sure I have it right? Can only see their "cafe" style one (is that it?).

Good luck with the headers.....i have looked hard...Arata, & Graves do full systems, and i think the years that the R6 exhaust ports match up are from 2003 - 2005 R6, but i am suspicious that the the 1999 - 2002 R6 motor might also match up...

As for the Puig headlight, i am interested in 3 different ones....

Cafe Racer Alien - Cafe racer (Twin head lamps) For the bike model Honda CB 500S 1999 | Puig

Cafe Racer Mask - Cafe racer (Twin head lamps) Products and other accessories for your bike | Puig

Cafe Racer Streetfighter - Cafe racer (Twin head lamps) Products and other accessories for your bike | Puig

But finding out about availability, and price, has so far drawn a big fat blank!

cheers for any help in advance!

So the headers are available, would be special order of course and take up to 8 weeks to arrive. They're around $1500 (just waiting to confirm the brand).

Got the guys on the Puig path, I'm sure we can get you an answer.

As for back on the topic, I've spoken to the parts guys and they can offer the Motul oil for $8 shipped, and will give 10% off any other Motul purchases if bought at the same time, and off your oil filter. We can do the same deal on Motorex oil. PM me if you're interested.
