And for one of the few times in my life, I went cutting-edge:
Got the new 13" Macbook Air, even though it makes me look fat. Also got a Cysco E2000 router, and got it up and running and talking to my Air within an hour and a half (everyone told me the whole process would take about ten minutes, but I'm not real sharp on computer stuff...
).
The screen is gorgeous, the Trackpad I'm liking so much I may replace the mouse on my iMac, but the "chiclet" keyboard is quite different to touch-type on, hopefully I'll get used to it.
The controversial feature on the Airs is... no internal hard drive; it's all flash memory. This makes it boot up within seconds, and enables it to be so thin. A bit pricey, but us Mac guys are used to that; cheaper than a Macbook Pro but a lot more useful (for me) than an iPad.
I'm stoked!
