Visor fogging

I had a real problem with Visor fogging until yesterday.

I had a Pinlock system fitted to my visor and it is has cured the problem 100%. I cannot fog it even if I try.

A bike test that totally works for a change.

FogCity makes a very similar product that is more universal as well, they even have one that is photo sensitive (it auto tints in the sun and is clear in the dark)

I've had pin lock inserts in visors before and they are very good, however as time goes on and they start to shift around and deform the seal does open up in places, letting some condensation in. Same with Fog City, after a bit of visor opening and closing and general everyday use, the adhesive starts to creep, letting the insert touch the visor and mist up where it does.

Also, these devices drastically reduce the size of the window you can see though when the rest of the visor mists over. Even when it doesn't fog, there's still the outline of the insert running right across your field of vision.

I've gone back to a plain visor with a tiny (and I do mean TINY) amount of washing up liquid rubbed onto the inside surface. Spread it all around with a finger and polish it off with a soft cloth untill you can't see any of it and you will get no fogging for a couple of days, then do it again. It's a minor hassle to keep doing it, but it works every time and is a whole lot cheaper than buying inserts and you can see through the whole visor rather than a tiny letterbox sized gap.

What we really need are double glazed visors of course, moulded with a vacuum inside them. No reason why they can't be made that I can see, and I'd pay the extra for guarenteed all year round fuss-free vision.

I use Scott's anti fogging cleaner, and it works well. Costs about $5.00 and the bottle lasts quite a while, plus, it fits nicely inside of a cotton rag under my seat.
