In the spirit of Memorial Day I took a few hours to ride a route that we are lucky to have here in Massachusetts. There are no twisties, no switchbacks, no WOT opportunities. There are lots of stop signs and a fair bit of traffic.

I took the Battle Road. The road from Boston, to Lexington, to Concord. By myself, alone with my thoughts. Today we remember all those who gave their lives so that we could travel these future days in freedom. While the top of mind in-memoriam heroes gave their lives just recently, this road is special because it represents the beginning, one of the places where the country was shaped. Traveling through the open meadows and standing where revolutionary patriots like Paul Revere once rode, and where revolutionary writers like Hawthorne and Thoreau once wrote is utterly surreal if you let your mind wander. We all have places like this, in every country, but I feel especially grateful to have this road practically outside my door. And I thank them, these Patriots, as I thank all of you Patriots who serve today.

Tom,

Thanks for the pictures and your historical ride (& including your bike in the pictures).

If it were not for the Patriots of the Revolutionary War we would still be part of the United Kingdom today. If it were not for the these Patriots the Founding Fathers of the Constitution wouldn't have had a purpose.

In these times we must remember what the Framers of the Constitution stood for and listen carefully to the political rants today. Otherwise our freedoms will be stripped away piece by piece.

Don't worry, we all know you regret it.
;)
Well I was thinking that they should be thanking us. If Britain had not meddled in USA affairs then the Patriots would not have had the oppertunity to be, well Patriotic.

Nelly

FWIW USA is becomming like the UK every day with yoiur Liberties being reduced and stripped away (nicely put Rock01). Genleman when you arrive at that point I can assure you it is not pretty.
Isn't about time that people actually got a bit more Partiotic?
