Two Bros, just how loud?

Hey all I was just wondering if anyone here uses a Two Bros exhaust with the tips you can put in to reduce the noise levels.
If so how would you classify the exhaust volume as compared to the stock?
With the caps in can you easily ride long distances without the exhaust being annoying, or is it loud enough to be annoyingly noticeable while riding?

Also hows the volume throughout the rev range?
 
I just bought a bike with them, with the tips in, and rode a 300km trip home same day. Didn't own a bike before so can't compare but they weren't a problem at all (although I did have ear plugs in, just in case)
 
I have them and they are much louder than stock. The have a great tone and when you push the motor the db's climb. How they will effect you is personal.

When I start the bike at home and have to idle it for a few minutes I ball-up a paper towel or tin foil and block one can so it's a little quieter. I have great neighbors anyway but that's prolly cuz I have good relationship for years with them and they know I respect and care about them. In other words I think a lot of how people will experience aftermarket pipes depends on how we as riders represent our selves.

To tell the truth I've never understood some one filming their bike with aftermarket exhaust and sitting the RPM on the rev limiter. The mike in the camera prolly doesn't do it justice well as the persons speaker system at home watching / listening on the Internet. Hahaha! I don't get it. Just sayin....:rolleyes: I can see it on a dyno or out running hard. But in the parking lot it's become a jerk limiter.Hahaha! :rof:

I have the PR1 inserts which don't cut the db's down for any detectable amount so I would get the smaller diameter db killers. I don't wear earplugs but then again I used to play in a rock n roll band hahaha! I don't romp on the gas in the urban environments unless I need to go quick but out in the sticks when it's playtime the bike sounds great. If and when you get the bike tuned you'll prolly benefit a few HP from these slip ons.

In my opinion the FZ6 is a phenominal bike for what it's built to do I feel it does it better than anything in it's class. It gives you more than you think it has especially if you tweak it a little.
 
At the moment I have my M4's, which are turning out as loud with the end tips in as they where without them, with not quite the same tone, and I'm thinking of take the tips out, but I do alot of night work, and coming home around 12ish or later which means I really need something that won't be sending the neighbors into fits, nor getting me pulled over by the police.
The tips also take away the really nice note of the M4's, and I was considering saving for a set of the Alum TB's as another option.
Anyone have any other experience with other quieter non stock exhausts which still have a nice tone?

Leo Vince!!!
My Leo's aren't as loud as the 2 Bros on Wolfmans bike, but still have a really nice tone. The dB Killers are a lot different too, and they get a lot louder when you take them out.

Hmm interesting although from memory doesn't Wolfman run his FZ6 with full open Two Bros, so his would be about as loud as it gets?
I'll definately take a look at the Leo's, I don't suppose you have any pics of what they look like?
 
I have 2bros and they're pretty loud with no baffles. The sound is great, but I was embarrassed to start the bike in my neighborhood to go to work early in the morning. They're basically glass packs - you can see straight through them. The sound at idle is nice and growly (if that's a word) and it just gets better as you go through the RPMs. BUT they were very loud and I got a lot of popping at deceleration.

I put the P1-X silencers on and it's a little too quiet. Not as quiet as stock, but too quiet for me. It has a nice growl at idle, but that disappears at higher RPMs.

The good thing I noticed about the silencers is the performance. I don't want to spend the money on a power commander and the silencers cut out a lot of the backfiring without the need for tuning.

Also have TB carbon slip on installed a week ago and "Oh man" the sound is just great not to mention when you rev up on speed 3rd 4th gear, it really roars.. music to the ears. best upgrade so far, have the P1 tips to but I'm still enjoying the growl without the tips, I'll slip them on when the neighbors complain bwahahaha!!:cheer:
 
Haha nice stuff I'm thinking I'll be taking the custom made tips out of my M4's to start with and see how I go from there, when I got them put in I had the exhaust packed alot denser which hopefully will make it slightly quieter (the custom tips are creating so much burble and popping its as loud if not louder than without them :S).
If that fails I might have to get myself a set of TB's so I can get the proper tips for managing the sound better!
 
Some pics of my baby with new 2bros. I've ridden a week without the P1's but on long rides my ears started to disagree :rolleyes: so I put them in for now till i get some decent earplugs :D

I love the sound and looks of these monsters. Nice and deep.
 
I hate to say I really like the TB's but I initially didn't get them because I didn't want to lose my OEM turn signals, particularly since I've noticed alot of people with totally unseeable custom signals on lately (not saying thats the case with the TB's FE just an observation)
That and what I got was alot cheaper :P
Seriously considering saving up for a set now.

I initially ran my TB's without Db killers, but now, for around the city at least, i run them with the Db killers in! As with them out, the TB's are seriously loud, and most probably, seriously offensive....

I love the sound of the Tb's without the Db killers, it is raw, faaaaaarkin loud, deep, and almost primeval...and yes, cars do move out of your way....

But with the Db killers out, the Tb's seriously annoy neighbours, limit your ability to get through the twisties in stealth mode, attract unwanted attention, and are most definitely illegal in terms of EPA noise levels! They also have a tendency to deafen a pillion!

But in sports mode, on country rides, i do like to take the Db killers out, cause it is awesome!

I have the TBs installed and kept my entire OEM fender. You put on the supplied FE that comes with the TBs. Then you gently flex that and the rear fender so you can run a bolt through it. I've had it that way since the trip to the dragon last summer without any issues and I ride it everyday there isn't snow on the ground.
