TPS adjustment ?

had an 04 and sold with 23,000 miles. went through having the tps swapped under warrenty. sold it and bought an 08 that was still new at a dealer @ 3hr. drive away.
I've only got 1,300 miles on it so far. since new if your'e completly off the throttle and pick it back up @ 50 or 60% of the time there is a hesitation or lag before it catches up. I adjusted the cable free play and tried high test gas but the problem still seems to be there. Was just wondering if anyone else had a similar problem and if possibly the problem was just a tps adjustment. if so i'll just do it myself instead of driving way back to the dealer. thks.

If I remember correctly those numbers look within spec. I don't think there is an adjustment for the TPS. There is however a Throttle Body Adjustment but can't imagine it would need it this soon. I would take it back to the dealer.

The TPS can be rotated (adjusted) slightly in either direction bringing the numbers either up or down... Your syptoms doesn't sound TPS related at all.

A throttle sync wouldn't hurt but it shouldn 't be off that far already. I sync'ed my 07 with almost 5k miles and it wasn't out much.

It never lagged as your 08 is doing...

If the bike sat for quite awhile in the dealership with fuel in it,the fuel would have gone stale and started varnishing things up. FI is less vulberable than carbs.

It wouldn't hurt to run some "Seafoam" thru it for a tank or two, mix it a little heavier than directed(it won't hurt anything). Chevron "techtron" is also a fuel system cleaner and also works very well. Both are cheap enough and can be found at an auto parts store or cheaper yet at Walmart....

good thought townsends. the dealer (motorcycle lot) that i bought it from said that they had bought from another dealer in a group buy. it had already been prepped ( gased up) when they pulled it off the floor. i agree injection will not be prone to a lot of sitting up issues that you get with carbs but neverthlees this was an 08 that could have had almost 2 year old gas in it and the issue could be something gummy such as the tps or throttle bodies. i walked out with the bike for $5,800 so i really can't complain. the dealer is a ways away and like i said it looked more like an indoor bike lot. i didn't even get a dealer prep sheet like i have on other new bikes i've bought in the past at other dealers. but seafoam - i've never heard of that - ????? thks.
