I commute, so Im used to it, but I'll be darned if it ain't HOT!
97 here today...

Wait til dusk if you can.
You can always get a camelpack, or a cheapie at Wal-Mart like I did, and fill it with ice cubes and water... strap it on under your mesh jacket and snake the hos out where u can sip often.

It's the onliest thing I've found that helps.

I am living in Lower Alabama (LA) and find that the humidity is actally better when I am moving over 40, but as soon as I stop at a light or park at work I start to sweat. I hate showing up at work sweaty, but I still ride because I hate getting 17 MPG in my truck vs. 47 on my FZ6.

I have to admit it is a lot of work to ride in the summer, but I am stuborn and out to prove to my wife that the bike was worth it!

That "blow torch " comment must come from someone in the desert. I was on top of a truck in Iraq and the 120 degree air was still 120 degrees at 60 MPH without the humitity.

Amen Brother, that Red Dot AC helps a bit but not much. Humid there too. Kuwait is the ASS!

Thats what nobody understands when they say im exaggerating when its 97 degrees and 100% humidity. Riding at any speed is not helpful.

I understand. Trust me, I doubt it's cooler and less humid in VA. I just don't don't mind sweating I guess. And hey, once you build up a sweat at a stop light, that little breeze finding it's way up your sleeve feels pretty good.

I'll keep wearing my heavy black textile jacket until I decide to spend the dough on something cooler, but I'm still (only slightly) jealous of all those :squid:s I see. See, look at that big dumb squidly smile!

I have top box and side boxes on my bike.
As soon as I stop its leathers off and sandals on. I ride with my t-shirt and shorts under my leathers. Riding is ok but as soon as you stop you start to boil.

With temp where they are lately, it is to hot for the casual afternoon ride. I still commute though but the drive home is not very enjoyable.

Ok its sunday, nothing to do and would like to go for a ride.. but...

Its 97 degrees out with a heat index at 105+ with little to no wind.

How many just say F*** it and stay home? I know I am today.

Worked in the garage for 30 minutes and was soaked with sweat.

Global warming at its best.

Guess i'll stay home and watch the races (F1, GP)

I rode from Gulfport MS to Augusta GA on Friday. Yeah, it was hot, especially in full gear. Augusta GA to Portsmouth VA on Saturday was better, only high 80s, with a couple of heavy rains on the way to make things interesting. All better now... :iconbeer:

I rode from Anderson, SC to Columbia, SC in 92 degrees F with a heat index of 103 F. While it was warm, it wasn't that hot unless I was stopped waiting on a traffic light.

The I 385 and I 26 were wonderful at 75+ mph. Only thing that was bothering me was the engine temp was running 205 F for most of it. Since the bike is all stock and not suppose to be rode over 7000 RPMs for 1st 600 miles, I'm guessing the extra temp was due to still being in the break in but I only took past 7000 for just passing. Brief moments over the break in limit shouldn't cause any problems.

btw: my father refers to FZ6s, GSX-Rs, R6s, etc. as chainsaw bikes. Called him after the trip and told him how fast I went, amount of time it took, my mpg, etc. Told him I'd like to see him do that on his Poulan.

I have a 40 min commute to work at 2:30 in the afternoon and damn does it get hot!! Its been 95 for the past few days. You can really feel a difference in air temp when following a car closely. My schedule is wierd.. I ride to work in the heat of the day, then head home in the cold of night. The cool air is refreshing though.
