I would recommend new tires! I love advertising! You can say what ever you want!:spank:
The entire structure of a tire is more complex than that and includes the carcass, so I would choose new donuts!
 
Play is safe, get new tires. Through Jake Wilson you can get a new set of tires shipped to your door for about $185.

Look at it this way, for about $250 you can put new happy tires on your bike. Or you can risk crashing due to old tires and it will cost you much more than $250 to fix your bike and risk hurting yourself.

How old are the tires?
 
How old would you all consider old (i.e. after how many years would you consider replacing a tire that isn't worn out yet)?

All votes against.... and I agree. Old hard tires wear differently, and do not give good traction. If you choose to use them, be cautious.... do not ask them to do anything drastic. Ride like a grandparent. :)
 
In all seriousness, this stuff is not designed to soften hard/old tyres. It's designed to add a layer to the tyre and perhaps penetrate the very outer epidermis of the tyre, and will last all of a few miles. It's for serious racers to give them a competitive edge.

Other than grip, a harder tyre will also take longer to heat up and so you'll always have that as an added issue.
