throttle? "snatchy"

if you consider the "adjustments" needed to fix this issue.

A street triple would be a better option.

To me, its a defining characteristic of the bike, and not a good one.
It doesnt exactly inspire confidence midcorner.

never had a problem mid corner, the bike is smooth as, once you get used to it....you just need to ride it how it needs to be ridden, like any bike.

I have riddeen a street triple....has it's own issues, but once again, once you get used to it....

Shouldn't have the issue mid corner, unless your in the wrong gear for the corner, or braking too hard coming in, and accelerating too hard through/out.
I had issues in my first week or two trying to accelerate mid corner, or being in the wrong gear, mainly because coming from a 250 the power available was totally different, and requires a slightly different mindset for cornering.
Theres also a noticeable jump in power around the 8krpm mark, as pointed out to me by Wolfman, and if your not expecting it and move the throttle too fast in either direction it can be quite jarring.

I wouldn't consider the triple a better choice though, I always found it a uglier bike, particularly before they went with the polished metal instead of that godawful dusted aluminium look. I've heard its engine is pretty sweet, but its lacking in other areas.
Also if your getting an aftermarket air filter + exhaust you need the PCIII anyway.

If you read comparo';s amongst naked 600's, the FZ6 & The Triumph, are normally ranked equal best...both have their strengths, and weakness's, but both bike's are great....especiaaly the FZ6...how does Yamaha do it for the monery...great value bike, only thing i have ever had issue with, is the suspension, once you get that fixed, you have a better bike than the trumpy, IMHO....and for about the same price in the end.

Just my 2 cents.

What I find most ironic, is since I've bought my bike, EVERY man and his dog has a triple, meanwhile its very rare to see a FZ6, let alone a FZ6N.
Lucky since I hate following the crowd :D

Well, the good thing about that is...you can sneak up on people...my Fizzser leaves the Trumpy's for dead in a straight out fight at the lights!

Gotta love short gearing!

Haha I'm not brave enough to give the FZ6 a full go at the lights yet!
Was on the M4 on the way home from the MCA on Parramatta road and had to get in front of a cager who was driving -really- erratically, was cruising so dropped it down a gear and just opened her up. Had to check my arms where still connected once I got past him :P

just make sure that when you do, you get down over the tank, and feather the clutch, unless you like your front wheel waving about in the air for about 150 metres!

when provoked, the fizzer likes to go hard!

I've had a few doof-doofs try and get me to race them from the lights, but I'm not often out on deserted/quiet pedestrian free roads, so its never worth it.

i dont do it...well hardly ever, and if i do, it's with my riding buddies, who i know i can trust

I have been reading this thread for a while, and I do agree that the throttle can be snatchy--even if you know about it and try to be careful with the throttle. I just got a PCIII a couple weeks ago and it has completely gotten rid of that jerkiness of closed to slight open throttle. A lot smoother.

Yea last thing you want is some idiot swerving across into you to avoid something if you have a go.
I don't mind taking off at lights fast, and giving them a run for their money, liked to do it alot on my old bike, but I let them go screaming off once I hit the limit.
Generally pick them up at the next light and get to do it again anyway :P
