Throttle grip washer placement

Where this washer should go ? I tried to put it inside the kill switch housing and that completely eliminates side to side throttle grip play. I guess it should be inside. When I bought the bike, this washer was placed just like on this photo.

Where it is in you pic above is CORRECT.

It's to help keep drag from the grip to the switch assembly.

Do not put it inside the switch assembly..

I put mine on the inside for a while before realizing it was wrong and when I took it out it had slight grooves on it.

Grooves=drag=a harder throttle pull

Thank you guys. I was changing throttle cables and couldn't find out purpose of this washer.

FYI, if you ever loose that or have a bike that needs a washer, you can make one with a razor knife and an empty milk jug.

That, ^^, also works on the little plastic washers that help hold the main fairing on!
