Did my panhandle thread get hijacked?
Ok, I tested them there panniers on twisty roads, highways etc last weekend and I am happy to report:
Went great.
Didn't even know they were there.
Don't spoil the looks of the great pipes and tail light on the back of my Fazer like the topbox and bracket do (in my opinion).

UNFORTUNATELY I must also report:
Fuel economy has gone to S**T with the panniers onboard.... and the topbox may not affect economy because it is behind the rider.

so there ya have it.

Now a woman who buys $1500 worth of bike riding apparel like my babe means bizness. Being small, I hardly notice her on the back. I guess some babes love the excitement of a ride on a motorcycle.

I noticed the same results when touring with saddlebags. They noticeably try to bend backwards at speeds above 50 mph/80 kph, and mileage drops by around 20%.

I got away with about $1000 for my wife. Pink Draggin Camos, Pink Helmet, Black and Pink Jacket. I am not allowed to ever buy a red bike, because the colours will clash!

I think my missus gear cost about $1000-1100 all up.
Helmet, Jacket, Glovesx2, Draggins, Boots, but that being said she rides a scooter and has proper motorcycle gear (not all that scooter crap) and didn't go for the really expensive/classy stuff cause she wasn't sure how likely she would be to stick with it.
It adds up pretty quickly and thats without a summer jacket, and not including the waterproof pullovers I got on sale more recently.

Going really cheap you could probably get a set of gear for under $1000, just a basic helmet for 250ish, same amount on your jacket, 100$ on gloves, 200$ on draggins or similar, and 200$ for boots + some waterproof pants.
That being said I don't buy cheap stuff, I wait and get the good brands on sale, since I can't see it being worth getting a $90 helmet...

Helmet was a cheapo about $300.
Dririder jacket - Alpine climate control, Shift leather gloves and pants (Kevlar jeans)
Dririder boots and thats it

FZ6 is the bloody same mate, have a look!!!!

Now, them there panniers are great but......... the fuel economy is compromised so I will be using them around town and on trips only, hmmm 90% of the time.

The rear end may be tasty, but I'm still not a fan of the stock exhaust, got my stock back on while I get some work done to the aftermarket.
Thinking I might take off the crappy cowl thingy, and see about painting it black maybe with red in the 'gills' and see how that goes.
I notice its mainly you old codgers that like the rear end unilaterally so I'm just going to put it down to failing vision in your old age
