Ok, I am finally able to at least put sentence together. I went to see one of my friends today. He, his wife and kids asked me to go with them to a bbq, and fireworks. My friend Alan and his wife and kids were going to be there and I hadnt seen them in over a year. So I went. I was on the bike, I was just stopping by to see if he wanted to go riding.

Had a great day. Down in a bottom next to a super clear clean rock bottom creek. (feeds to Drakes Creek for Charlie) There was over 400$ worth of fireworks. We had hickory smoked chicken, potato salad, chips, cokes, and cookies. I had parked my bike up at the house and then its a mile or so on 4 wheeler trails to get down to the bottom. They have a big deer stand with 4 beds, a huge food plot, and its just a awesome place.

About sunset I started to get a headache. I just blew it off. It just kept getting worse and worse and worse and worse. We got done started up the 4 wheelers for light hooked the trailer up to the biggest one, loaded all the stuff up, I rode back in the trailer with all the kids. My head is just hurting worse by the minute.

We got back to the house, unhooked the trailer and reattached it to his truck. Put his four wheeler back on it, while my bike warmed up. I asked for some tyl. or aleive. Nanna gave me two aleive. I waited about 15 mins for them to work, and cleaned the dew off my mirrors and helmet. Got geared up and headed home. It was 71 degrees, I had my perf leather jacket, and shift jeans (now with A* leg armour) My head was killing me. I headed out anyway. I should of stayed there. My head just keeps getting worse. It was to the point I was afraid I was going to throw up in my helmet. These are crazy KY backroads way way out in the county. IE no curve signs, no lines, no lights, no reflectors, skunk, fox, coyote, and deer everywhere. I went no faster than 35mph, I just couldnt think faster than that. I was freezing cold, wanting to throw up, and the two cars I saw niether one of the SOBs dimmed thier lights which were like lazer beams driving thru my skull. My head was hurting so bad, hell it still does but at least I can focus my left eye now. I was driving with out depth perception. It was like all my input had to come from right eye because everything on the left hurt so bad. Oh and my low fuel warning started flashing as I pulled into their gravel drive in the sunshine earlier.

I seriously considered just stopping at the vol. fire station I saw and just laying on the ground for a while. If I had known anyone on the way home I would of stopped and asked to stay. I really shouldnt of been riding. Once I got into town it was a litle better street lights still hurt, but the highbeams werent on anyway.

I rode thru town and back out on the other side to my house. I came home and just wanted to poop in my pants and throw up at the same time. I have only had my head hurt that bad a very few times in my life.
Its down to just a managable headache now.

My God it was awfull. Oh and the whole ride with the dew on everything, and the temp it was freezing to just add insult to injury.

So yeah, that was my day. Awesome Awesome Awesome, then total suck.

That sounds absolutely horrible... do you get migrains? or was this completely out of the blue?? Still glad u made it home safe!

I have never had a migraine before that I know of. My ex used to get them and would have to get shots of demerol. I would of taken one earlier. Alieve seems to knocked it down to dull ache so I guess I dont. Hell I sure dont know. I have always had a pretty high tollerance for pain. This was almost unbearable.

Thanks glad to be home myself.

Hmm...I'm no doctor, but I've read much about Food Poisoning. I've heard stories where bacteria would attack in less than 4 hours and cause the symptoms you've had.

If it goes away in 24 hours, I'd only be more convinced.

I'm so glad you made it home. If that headache persists, I'd definitely consult a physician. Take care of yourself wrightme43.

You know Elm thats what I was thinking too. Now the medicine has kicked in all the way, and its almost gone. Just some pressure on my left eye. I had a bowl of the A double p le Jacks and feel almost 100% again. I sure dont know what happened but I am glad its over. When I first got home I couldnt see anything but a blur on the computer out of my left eye, now I can read with it but its blurry. The funny thing is, my sinuses feel clear and fine. I dont know what the hell caused it.

Thanks for your concern.

Steve, that creek is pretty close (less than a mile) from my kids place. When we lived in SoCal I used to dream of roads like this and now I live on one. You did however forget to mention turkey, raccoon, turtle, squirrel, vulture and let us not forget Mr. Snake. Either way, these roads are to die for or live for as the case may be.

As to the headache and such, I have had more than a few migraines and trust me, Tylenol wouldn't begin to phase them and light of any kind only made them worse so the mere thought of having one and getting hit by a set of cager lights would be a real problem as all I would want to do is close my eyes. I don't know that food poisoning was the issue as it can often be associated with severe stomach cramps, the runs and of course vomiting. Rather, we may often come into contact with prepared foods that have had some form of spice or sauce used in the preparation that doesn't set well with us at all. It would also be a good idea to check with others at the party to see if they may have become sick as well. Tomatoes seem to be a problem lately but from what I have gathered they are store bought and fast food folks in many cases have stopped using them until things get back to normal.

Glad you made it home safe .....

Steve go see your Doctor.
They symptoms you describe are to severe for a food bug without any other associated symptoms, Diarrhea / vomiting.
There will be loads of arguments put up to refute my thoughts and thats fine. It would be highly unusual for you not to have a gastric disturbance with a food bug.
As Charlie has stated check if anyone else was sick.

If the symptoms last longer than 24 hours then you should definitely seek medical advice.

Glad to hear you made it home! As I read your OP, I had a knotted stomach thinking the story was going to end with an incident but I'm very relieved to see you are OK.

Are you allergic to anything?

Steve, I'm glad you're home safely. Sorry that you're day ended up so lousy. I would agree with Nelly, if you're not feeling 100% (seeing clearly from both eyes) after 24 hours, see a doctor.

Yeah, if the problem persists beyond 24 hours this is a very good idea regardless of there not being a second case popping up for the single gathering of individuals. The CDC has reported cases of salmonella associated with tomatoes in numerous states so for me, this is enough to think smart and get an exam.

Hope your feeling better by now, Keep an eye out for other symptoms that you may think are not related, and see a Doctor if its not going completely away. Better safe then sorry.

its possible you could have some hemorrhage in your brain, or something like that. Why dont you just see the doctor , get some x rays and make sure there is nothing going under the radar. Sudden symptoms like that should be taken very seriously, anyway, just in case, see the DR.

Steve,

I would definitely go see a doctor about this. Your body is trying to tell you something so don't just ignore it.
Could be you got some bad food or maybe a virus but only a physician will be able to ascertain that.
No one here would be mentioning this to you if we didn't care about you...go see a doc!

I'm with Nelly on this. ANY event that causes blurred vision without an obvious cause (like a bug in your eye) is worth a visit to the doc. It may turn out to be nothing - let's hope! - but it also could be a more serious condition that can be treated - if you give them the opportunity.

Ugh! That is horrible Steve. I've had migraines over the years and what you describe is similar. Before the pain really sets in I have vision problems that begin with a pin point of blindness. I can't read a couple of letters, then it progresses into "electric snakes" that shimmer and more to either the left of right of my vision, blinding that side of my vision. I can't drive and if I am I pull over. After they are out of my field of vision I can still feel them. They last about 45 minutes. Once they are gone I've got about 15 minutes until I get hammered with a headache, usually an ice pick through the eye feeling. When I was a teen and in my 20's they were terrible, lasting for several days at times. In my 40's they are now just a few snakes and a bad headache that lasts for 4 to 8 hours, no vomiting now.

See your doc and get it checked out. Hopefully you'll never experiance that again.

Now I feel just fine. I felt fine with in a few hours of getting home. Do you think huge amounts of fireworks smoke could of caused it?

We were down in a bottom, and the smoke just hung in the air. When the fourwheelers all started it was just like being in a thick fog.

I dont think it was food poisoning. The chicken was fresh and kept cold. Then kept cooked and eatin.

I think it was just areally awfull headache. Dehydration is a strong possibilty. All I had to drink all day was 2 cups of coffee, a coke, and a sprite.
I dont feel any different in my thought patterns, or muscle controls. Just my left eye felt really bad, and that is where the headache was. Who knows. I dont have any medical insurance so the doctor unless there is just something major, and I am scared is right out.
