The Rant Thread

God, I hope it doesn't rain when we're in Tassie - I don't like it :(

Yeah right, it will. There is a place just outside Queenstown on 99 bends that rains like 360 days a year. When I rode through there it was 35 degree day with scorching sun and then when we got to the top of this hill it poured for the 30 seconds it took to ride to the other side. Tassie weather is insane!!!!!!

You will be fine, you will have good tyres....and all the right gear...it's not that bad...i actually quite enjoy it sometimes...

Dont think Jess will though...but then she has surprised me before with stuff like that?

I have a need for a rant! It's a long one!

I've just finally completed the importation of my bike from the UK to France. But dear god what a load of bureaucratic rubbish I had to go through! And holy cr@p it's cost me an absolute fortune! If I'd have known it would be so hard and complicated I'd have ridden back to the UK, sold it there and bought a French one back here!

First of all, you need a certificate of EU conformity from Yamaha to say it's been built to EU standards. It's bloody UK bike so of course it has! But oh no you still need this paper. Oh and it costs 125 euros... This took a month to arrive as of course I tried to get this done in summer. If you know France at all, then you'll know that the entire country goes on holiday in July and August as it's practically impossible to get anything done.

Also needed is a certificate to prove VAT tax has been paid. I bought the bike second hand and have owned it for 2 years (luckily I had the receipt from the guy I bought it from). This was (surprisingly) free and easy to get.

Yamaha certificate received, stating PARTIAL conformity as the lights need to be changed to EU spec (as the UK is one of TWO countries in the EU to drive on the bloody left!). So an official inspection from the French authorities is needed.

Lights bought second hand from a guy on ebay, inspection duly arranged and bike towed on a borrowed trailer 50km for the inspection. I paid 86 euros for what should have taken less than 5 minutes. However the guy was looking for a tiny number stamped on the lights, and insisted I take the entire fairing to pieces so he can find it. He then finds it printed on the glass on the front of the lights so it wasn't necessary to take the fairing apart after all.

I rather stupidly assumed it'd be possible to have the paper from him the same day enabling me to go and register the bike. Mr Man shakes head and says ''Non monsieur, ce n'est pas possible.'' Had to wait 2 days before I could go back and pick it up.

All paperwork received and in order (including other items such as electricity bill as proof of address and passport as proof of ID) I went to the local prefecture to register the bike. Everyone was telling me before that it was unlikely I'd be successful first time as there is always a 'problem', such as a missing bit of paper/signature, or it can't be processed as the person is brushing their teeth at the moment...blah blah...

It was in fact done first time with no issues  , apart from my own issue with the 145 euro fee for the registration documents. Hooray thinks I, I shall be on the road by lunchtime! Just have to arrange insurance....

French insurers refuse to recognise my no-claims bonus so I have to start as if I'm a newbie rider. In the UK I had full cover for £150, here I've paid 545 euros for third party, fire and theft only!

So I am happy to be back on the road, but have no money left for petrol!

Rant over...sorry for the length!

Damn Davey, France sounds worse than NSW!

My own little rant!
Got the green light at an intersection and went through the intersection which has a slip road so that even on a red people can still turn onto the road I was going straight ahead through the intersection on. (Hope that makes sense)
Anyway as I'm going through I realise some stupid little _____ has gone down the sliproad fast and obviously is ignoring the GIVE WAY sign/line and I slow down, and watch as the idiot just zooms straight through where I would have been.
I flashed and was going to same direction as the driver for a good 800m and was just pissed off that such bloody idiots have licenses.
I was getting nervous glances from the driver too, who seemed to think I would follow and give them a peice of my mind, which they probably deserved, but people that stupid aren't the type to learn anything from it anyway.

I want an air horn.

A small rant from me today.................could all you guys that post from your iphones.......................turn off that "sent from my iphone using tapatalk" sig.

Ok, my F**k*n rants for today:

1 We get 5h1T reception for channel 7 and 10/1HD - so we had to go to my parents to watch the racing today..... (at least I got to see it :))
2 One HD - will you F**k*n stop cutting the commentary off before you show the riders interviews  You did it last week at Malaysia, only to show DELAYED telecast of the "OMG no one is watching it Commonwealth Games". This week you did it and you were at the bloody track! I would have liked to hear what Whiner, Hip Hip and God had to say after the f**k*n race....

And now I'm done.....

And now I'm done.....

Spelled "WINNER"wrong dude:rolleyes:.

I thought the left arm rock thrower was the one moaning about the people dawdling along in the racing line this time:rof::rof::rof:.

If you had've wiped away your tears more quickly, you would've seen them interviewing the riders before they got on the podium, and would know that the new bull bar installed on the front of number 46 is working fine.:D Valentino couldn't be happier if he woke up in the dressing room of a gladiator movie :BLAA:

Mikey!

I saw THOSE interviews, but I like to see the official ones

I wasn't crying - he got a podium - all good for me. I'm so sad I'm happy just to watch him, win or lose....

Yep, the bullbar is working fine. So are his balls - they are pretty big. Out of my one eye, I didn't see anything wrong with it ;)

Both my eyes work pretty well...lol. I'm not a huge Hayden fan, but the first pass from front on view was crud in my opinion. Second pass was OK though.

How many times did Spies and Simoncelli swap position?...lol.

Stooooonnnneeeeeeerrrrr!!!!!!

I couldn't be happier if I woke up in the dressing room of a Zombie Stripper movie:eek::D

There was a big battle on OneHD for who is the biggest useless dickhead associated with motorcycle racing telecasts.

Craig 'I was not a very good car racer' Baird has been **** all year, in just 2 days Leigh 'I am an arrogant c***' Diffey has equalled Bairdo's effort.

One got it right this year stopping Rusty & Daz commentating. Both these guys are very good presenters, but they are ffffing it all up with these other 2 butt jockeys.

My rant for the day....the Moto GP race was crap...thanks Casey for making it boring by being so bloody quick at the Island!!! :D

My other rant for the day, took the missus to see the new resident evil movie in 3D, it cost us $48 f****** dollars...that's just f****** rude!

It took you that long to figure out it was rubbish? Haha.
It gives me headaches and doesn't make the movie any better!

Are they showing that one in 2D? If not, I'm not seeing it :Flip:

The movie was crap anyway! Only good thing in it was Mila jovavich.... :spank:

Avatar was good in 3D - couldn't watch it without.

As for other movies, Mike wants to see Saw 28 or whatever it is in 3D.

I'm too scared :scared: If I keep quiet, he might forget that it's on....

He always makes me watch the Saw movies - I have my eyes shut for most of them - just gross.....

I didnt want to go see the movie we went to last night....but CGI gore just aint the same as the old stuff, it was more fun, when you could see just how "bad" the special effects were....used to make me laugh lots...

Now it's just the acting that is B grade!
