That's no good, Kazza. Hope it clears up for you soon. In the meantime there's always the MotoGP.

From a non smokers perspective about the price going up, you need to remember that there is a large section of the population who will need serious medical support for a long time to come.
Even if they banned smoking 100%, they would then be asking everyone to fork out for the smokers who irresponsibly damaged themselves.
Personally I don't mind if they tax alchohol and cigarettes through the roof, as long as that money is going into the areas that are being effected by the problems.
For smoking its the health system.
For alchohol, its the health and hospital system, and the emergency services.
Its always a sore note for people who actually smoke, but seriously QQ more, as far as I am concerned your doing something that you and everyone else knows will certainly lead to health issues, if your really that concerned with the price, stop smoking.
(Look at all the health issues young children face when parents smoke afterall)
My grandpa was complaining about the price rise and how it won't help reduce smoking numbers, and I had to point out that he receives a large amount of government support because he has 11% lung capacity left, who pays for that?
This being said I think if you are admitted to hospital drunk then you should have to pay for your full medical support, particularly if its related to injuries or behaviour linked to your drunken state. No one wants to take any responsibility anymore, and if they want to get drunk and hurt themselves then there should be a blood test at the door and if you don't want to pay you can find just go to a doctor or private centre where you will pay.
Also if it was 100$ a box or whatever I can tell you one thing, alot LESS children would be taking up the habit.
Sucks on the asthma thing thoughhope your feeling better soon so you can go for a ride! Nothing worse than being stuck at home because medicine makes it a bad idea to ride.
Now assuming this is right.... including the 15% price rise a year then currently treatment of lung cancer would be costing 120 grand, so while I doubt this interest figure is correct, it does paint a startling picture over what one of the illnesses that may be caused by cancer costs.HealthDay News reports that the average cost of treatment for lung cancer was $39,891 as of 2002.However, cancer costs are continuing to rise at a rate of about 15 percent a year.
Every 10 percent increase in the price of cigarettes reduced youth smoking by about seven percent and overall cigarette consumption by about four percent.
Thats well over 6.7 billion. Even just counting tangible costs your looking at 12 billion a year, this does of course include the amount of labour both at work and at home lost.In 2004–05, social costs of tobacco abuse totalled just under $31.5 billion,1 more than 56% of the total estimated social costs of drug abuse in Australia in that year. Of the total estimated social costs of tobacco abuse, 38% were tangible costs and 62% were intangible.
not be saying anymore on the subject (even if you tell me tobacco was introduced here by aliens to wipe out our population so they could take over).
