The Powerbronze/Yamaha 2007 FZ-6

Well I finally got the lowering fairing from Powerbronze for my 07' FZ-6 and I bought the Powerbronze seat cowl from another member here. I had a painter from a local body shop that has a Dupont paint matching system do the paint match and spray the parts ($100 as a side job). This was way cheaper than buying the paint from Colorite and the paint match is dead on. This paint job was 2 coats of color and 1 coat of clear. The install is a piece of cake took less than 2 hours. Thanks to this forum, this is where I first read that Powerbronze was doing an 07' fairing and these parts totally change the look of this bike, I think for the better.

In recent days I have seen alot of posts about the looks of the FZ versus full fairing bikes.

All I can say is, it looks great; naked, 1/2 faired, 1/2 faired with a belly-pan, full-faired, whatever. Each look, looks great for various reasons and your bike just shows how great she looks full-faired.

Firs of all, AAFO, that bike looks great with those fairings, was the paint shop privately owned or a chain of some sorts?

It was a private body shop, Dave's Body Shop in Palm Beach Gardens, FL so if anybody is local go by there and talk to Dave (painter) he is not Dave the owner and he'll do this as a side job. If you're not in the West Palm Beach area try calling some body shops and ask who has a Dupont paint mixing and matching system. What Dave did was take a device a about half the size of a shoe box and held it against the gas tank, this thing has a camera and computer in it he got an image then plugged this thing into abother computer that computes a paint formula, then the mixing system made a small amount of paint and he shot a piece of scrap he had lying around and we held it up next to the gas tank...bingo exact match including metal flakes and everything. Pretty damn cool.

Off topic, aafo? what kind of windscreen is that? And did it help much? I just ordered the Cee Baileys 24" last night! $192 that I don't really have!!

Nice. You were almost the first person on here to have the 07+.:thumbup:

They look great. As do mine. I think the powerbronze are the best looking for the 07+ so far. Thats just my 2 cents though. Only Question is, how the junk did it take you anywhere near 2 hours to install them. The six brackets only took about 15 mins on mine.

It's a Puig Touring windscreen and it helps to get the wind flow up a few inches vs. the stock windscreen.

It took 2 hours because I had a set frame sliders on the bike and I couldn't find the original bolts. So I had to cut the frame sliders back enough for the fairings to to fit, this actually works pretty well because now there is some solid support, a nub of a frame slider under the fairing so if I ever did lay this thing down the fairing would be trashed but the slider is still there or half of it anyway to give some protection to the frame. Naturally after I had cut down the sliders I found the original bolts but I think leaving the sliders nubs is a better way to go, also the instructions are a bit lacking when it comes to installing the turn signals onto the fairing, I was trying to get the turn signals to just clear the fairing so the rubber lip just went through and then scretch the rubber on the lip over the original bracket, but that will not work so you have to push the entire stem of the signal through the fairing and then secure the lip over the bracket. So really the turn signals are simply pushed completely through the fairing then secured to the bracket.
