Re: Australia V's England - First Test!

Scores at end of day 2.......Poms 1st dig...435, Australia, in response, 249/1!!!

With Punter on 100 not out, and Katich on 104 not out!

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi!

Yep, the second day sure went Australia's way. Quite a nervous few moments for Ponting there towards the end. Bugger, has what 38 test centuries now?

Yep....hot on the heels of the Little Master! :D

And your right...looked a wee bit nervous...best bit for me, both Katich & Ponting got to 100 off of Freddy's bowling!

:D

Actually I will miss Adam, he really added to the tension. A great player, routinely scored on par with our openers.

BTW KP reached the 1000 run miles stone against Australia today...

Nelly

BTW Ricky Ponting reached the 11,000 run milestone against England today...;)

Re: Australia V's England - First Test!

Cricket is about to start again.....am wondering where all you poms are in this thread, with your witty comments re Australia's lack of bowlers, etc.....;)

Am wondering too, when the English press is gonna shut up about the 2005 series.....it's as if the 07 ashes series never happened! Maybe cause Australia won!

Am hoping Australia bats all day today, and puts the Poms back in tomorrow, on a wicket that looks as if it's going to dry up completely, which will suit our seamers lots!

One last thing.....can someone please tell the Barmy Army that chanting "Barmy Army" all day is about as entertaining as watching Geoff Boycott bat...and almost as annoying! And as for the trumpet blower that was going off all day yesterday, i could think of a few places where i would like to shove that bugle......and the sun does not shine in my first choice!

Did enjoy the Mini David Gower impersonator though...well funny!

Re: Australia V's England - First Test!

Well I think that there is still allot of cricket to play. Class batting from the Aussie boys. Only slightly ruffled by FF.

Important wicket today by Anderson. I haven't got Sky so have to listen to Geoffrey two 5hit Boycott letting us know how great he was and in fact still is:spank:

Re: Australia V's England - First Test!

Nice touch Grommit. I smell a draw. (that's a tie in the US).

Hmmmm...weather aint looking good.....if it doesnt rain, i think Australia have the upper hand....if they can get another 150 ahead, and then bowl ok....which is doubtful....

Hey Daniel,

Have you got a web addy for an Aussie radio station. I would love to hear the broadcast from your end.

I hate it when it bloody rains, To have to salvage a draw due to the weather has no honour in it. I want to see sweat and tears. If your going to lose a match lose it by fighting like a B'stard.

Anyway we started to pull it back towards the end.

As an Aussie, when Clark got out after the rsumption of play late in the day....i was alittle unhappy, but it is definitely good for this game....

agree about having to salvage draws, never a good result for the game in general, lets hope tonight see's some great cricket, and god forbid....an English attack on the the Aussies slightly stronger position in the game at this point....

Pitch is going to play a big part in the next 2 days, with the bal starting to explode through the super dry surface, and variable bounce starting to come into play....

God i love test cricket....more twists and turns than any 50, or 20 over game anyday....

well it's tea on day 4... And the poms are in more trouble than a christian in the colesium!

How do you say.... Pants down!

Thats why test cricket is great.
Who would have thought that Monty would face 35 balls and not be out.
I am pleased to draw in this match through playing, not because I paid the Gypsy woman in town €10.00 to make it rain lol.

Lol.....very lucky escape boys! But credit is due where it's due.....great to see the Poms take it back to the Aussie's on the last day....

The real hero was Collingwood, and the real winner was Test Cricket...that game pooped all over any one dayer, or twenty twenty game....

In the end, the Aussies will go to Lords feeling even more determined, and the English should take a long hard look at it's performance....for 3.5 days, they were absolutely outplayed...
