test rode a BMW 800ST

I woke up this morning to clouds, rain & cold! Only 45 degrees here in Colorado Springs. After an hour of debating & wondering if my killer headache would subside .....went ahead and drove up to BMW of Denver so I could test ride this bike. And what a great bunch of guys they are there. Everyone was really helpful & friendly.
All I can say is WOW! It was so easy to handle and they had the "lowered" version of it (lowered by the factory & has the low seat), so at 29.9" I could flat foot this bike. And that alone put my confidence level up.
So, now I just need to decide if I should get the Champagne Metallic or the Night Blue Metallic!

You can rent these 800 in Las Vegas from the local BMW dealership. Motorcycle rentals is a huge business here, especially Harley's.

Now sure how many miles you can log on a test ride, but you can really log some miles if you come down here and rent one.

I've always like that family of BMW. They look to be very high quality and the 800 seem to perform very well from what I've read. :thumbup:

I vote blue but then again I've owned two blue motorcycles and two blue cars. What do you know all four were a dark metallic blue...a pattern me thinks.

Move the exhaust up under the seat, - and BMW have a "Copy of design" law suit coming from Yamaha

The blue I test rode is a 2008 model....the dark blue & the silvery white are 2009

Nice bike. I really like how they feel when you ride them. My only complaint is they feel so plastic everywhere. It sounds like it will break when you lean on the faux tank.
