TB install. Can only get 1 plate lite lit @ a time

Installed TB slip-ons and the FE kit with signals and plate light bolts. Everything is okay except I can only get one plate light to work at a time. If I switch the connectors coming from the plate light ( which are cannibalized from the stock fender and spliced to the plate light bolts) into the harness on the left side only one will work. If I pull them out and then reconnect them opposite of what they were before the other one will work. I'll probably get asked this question so here....They both have to be connected for one to work. I can't just plug in one connector to the harness and have a plate light come on. So I'm obviously getting current.......electrical work not my cup of tea. P.S.S Sorry no pics, I'm hoping that there are plenty of you out there that have installed these and know what I'm talking about. If you must have them I'll get the boss/wife to help.

Are you connecting these in series or in parallel? They should be wired in parallel.

By parallel do you mean 1 wire of opposite color from the left and right connected? And then repeated for the other 2 wires? Inside each plate light bolt wire insulation was a red and a black. I joined the red one from the left to the black one on the right and then vise versa....I'm sorry if I'm confusing.

Mine are all tie-wrapped together so I can't confirm the colors, but if each plate bolt LED has a red and a black, tie the reds together and the blacks together. The reds then go to the positive voltage factory plate wire and the blacks to the negative. This is called a parallel configuration.

They are mounted but only used to attach my own FE to the TB one. I didn't connect them cause that would be a waste of power.

I wanted to use the stock signals and plate light and retain the reflectors.

You Rock! Boy do I feel like a buffoon! Well that's how you learn I guess. And I did follow the TB install directions to a T.....but I just read the step for the plate lights and I definitely read a little too far into it. Thanks alot
