Tank side pads suggestions?

I've never had side tank pads, but would like to give them a try. Dropping $75 for a set of SnakeSkins seems dumb, but the cheaper FZ6 alternatives get bad ratings. I'm liking the idea of clear instead of black, but can't find any for Fz6. I see a lot of clear options for other bikes for around 20 bucks, and am thinking I'll buy a set and just cut them to fit. Has anyone done this before? If so, what model bike did you choose to start from?

Snake skins, no doubt....

The rear one, I trimmed down from a larger one (you can just see the edge of it-rectangular).

They are removable should you wish to put on another bike.

Looks OEM (IMO) and still appear brand new (about 10 years old now).

I agree the snake skins are great! I had mine for years and they give me great grip.
