Tank cover

I have a 2005 FZ6. I saw this tank cover on ebay but it doesn't specify 2005. Is there a difference in the tank between years?

Also, I would be be interested in opinions on these type of covers. Are they more hassle than they are worth? Does dirt gather under the cover and cause scratches?

I have one as long as you clean under cover you will be fine. And don't expose it to very long periods of direct sunlight. I don"t use mine any more I like the look of a tank pad better. I can sell you mine $20 shipped if you like.

Pretty sure tank shape is the same for all years, but not sure why the cover is only advertised for 07-09.

I used it for 3 seasons on FZ6 and now have one on FZ1. Looks are subjective, but it's functionality is undeniable: great grip on tank (no sliding forward under braking), no cold tank feel on cold days and great protection from scratches.

As Ben said, just have to keep the tank clean.. I would always wax mine before putting the cover on. After 3 season on my bike, tank still looked perfect under the cover.
