Ok, heres what I want.. (or think i want)

I want my tail light to strobe a couple times then stay on when I hit the brakes. I saw an ambulance going down the road that had a tail light that strobed twice then stayed on when they were braking. Man, Does that Grab Your Attention FAST!!

Is there a replacement bulb that will to that?
Some sort of actuator that could be wired in to the tail light wires?
LED or Incandescent?

I dont want any Add on lights like the hyperlite blocks I want it to look completely stock.. just need it to strobe a couple times before staying on!

Thanks Forum!

Devices causing bulb to blink are called "light modulator". There are couple different types like installed into bulb base, connected inline to your lights electric bus. Brake lights are simple. But head lights are more complicated as it require to have light sensor somewhere on a bike to enable modulator during day and disable for a night.

So google also for fz6 brake modulator

this is what you want for tail lights. My brother has one and I was following him this weekend on a ride(day time) and its certainly attracts your eyes to the tail light. Add a 15 LED tail light to the mix and you will have much better visibility.

FOr the price every motorcycle should have it!

Here's two:
Brake Light Strobe Module | Strobe Controllers | Super Bright LEDs
Brake Light Strobe Module | Strobe Controllers | Super Bright LEDs

I have the first one, and have it hooked up to a signal dynamics LED bar on my license plate and the LEDs in my Givi topcase. It doesn't work as well with regular incandescent bulbs since the flash rate is really high. You could swap the stock taillight bulb with an LED bulb and it should work.
Here's a vid of it [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBAgM6Z1lL8]FL2S-10A Strobe Light Module - YouTube[/ame]

one of these?

^^^Agreed. There's a reason why this is the friendliest forum. He's looking for our opinions or better yet, first hand experience. Google can turn up all the options in the world, but 75% of them are crap though.

OP, you have got me thinking about doing a custom LED tail light, as well as turn signals. Would definitely have to be a winter project though. I have the whole summer to think about it. If your curious about this, head on over to hidplanet and browse their LED section. TONS of information, enough to make your eyes glaze over.

Look into the Motodynamic tail light replacement. It performs the rapid three flash brake signal before going steady, has integrated turn signals, simple to install and looks sharp. Plenty of info on the forum dealing with installs, issues, mods, etc. And if you buy the clear option you can keep your stock appearance.

Great responses here!!

Didnt mean to start any fights here, lol!!
I ask this forum questions because between all of us, i can get some pretty good sugestions on what really works the best on our FZ6's.

I was considering the "Back off" modulator, but the pulse flashes are kind of slow.. Its not really that !!Attention Grabbing!!.
But now I see the Motodynamics tail light set up. Its does exactly what I would want and looks pretty sweet too!

I have the motodynamic and can recommend it. No delays with the stock lights either. Wasn't too bad to install
