Tail light not working

i had my signals go out and my tail light on when i blew the tail light fuse...so maybe check the signal fuse...im still confused as to why this happened but as stated before just check all the fuses

There is just one fuse that feeds the directionals, tail lamps and running lights.

If you blew the tail light fuse you wouldn't have tail lights. You could have a brake light but if the tail light fuse is blown you will loose both turn sigs. and running/tail lights. The brake light filament is in the same bulb as the tail light filament but a different circuit runs the brake light.

This person's turn sigs and front running light are active. This means the fuse is good and the problem is somewhere else..

Edit: Fuses blow when more current than they were designed for is passed through them. An example would be too many additional components drawing current on a circuit or a short circuit..

Thank you both. I ended fixing it after about an hour playing. I couple of years ago my crazy wife was mad at me and cut all my ignition wires. When they replaced the harness it looks like they spliced into my tail light wires for some reason.....The cut that was taped up had just come loose. I have kept the bike in storage for almost 2 years now and not rode more then a couple times somehow when I brought it home the other day it must have just came disconnected. Back up and running now though. Than you both again for the help.

It felt so good to be on the road on the bike again today. I cant believe I have rode so little over the last couple of years......thinking about a night ride now :rockon:
