Swine Flu!

Anyone on this forum had the Swine Flu? Both me, and my Girlfriend have had it for last week or so, and it has turned our lives upside down....have had to turn my kids away from the house they live in 4 days a week, and leave them with their mothers....tell all my friends to stay away, etc...

Is most evil! I think i am sorta getting over it today, but it has knocked me around hardcore....

As i write this, i am still struggling with a secondary ear infection (not good if you are a professional DJ like me), a bad stomach, a headache that just wont budge, body aches, and a head full of the green stuff....and i feel much better than i did!!!!

I dont normally get that sick, when i catch a bug, but this bout of the Flu, has truely taken me to a few places i never thought my tough old body could go....i slept for 34 hours between Sunday night and Tuesday Afternoon....and woke up feeling like i needed to go back to sleep at the end....

Anyway, needed to vent....

I had Swine Flu or H1N1 a couple years ago when it was spreading like crazy in the US and I was in bed for literally 5-7 days till I actually felt somewhat good. Not an experience I would want to relive... Makes you feel lifeless and miserable...

Now if I could just get rid of this bloody cough I would be happy .

Thanks for the well wishes folk! Gotta say, i dont get sick ever normally! I have a reputation as a "man of steel", when it comes to catching a bug....but this little sucker hit me hard and fast....my missus had it for 6 hours, then next thing i know, i was laden with it's evilness!!!

Went to work tonight, with a head like a boarding house pudding.....large, and over inflated!

Weird thing is....i got drinking for the first time in 2-3 weeks, and i feel great afterwards.....alcohol, it has it's benefits!

i know that tomorrow morning, i will feel like evil has slipped one up me, whilst not looking, but at least i will know that i earnt it, rather than be dealt it by the gods of sickness!

A measure of how sick i am, is that my "wingman", ozzieboy (forum member) has not come near my house for 7 days running...truely a measure of my sickness....cause that little bugger is like the sun, pops up everyday normally!!!!

Between my illness, and the ineptness of Aussie Post.....my sworn enemy, the last few weeks have been more than interesting!

The good news is....My TRX project has been coming along regardless of illness, and in a about 3 weeks time, i should be able to report that i have built one crazy arse twin cylinder (V-twin like, but parrelel twin in design, but notfiring order), that will replace my 2 seater FZ6 that i recently sold, with one crazy arse bike to take my beautiful missus out riding on, when we dont have kids.....165kg's, 105 rear wheel HP, loads of torque, and not a bolt out of place....

Maybe this flu is the price i have to pay for this build....if it is....then i am happy to feel the pain, and get the bike that will perfectly compliment my FZ6 fighter!

By the way.....next project, looks like being a Yamaha SZR660.....single cylinder, light, fully adjustable suspenders, with timeless lines! Woop! or a FZR1000 EXUP.....The thinking man's R1!

That's just how i feel Mick....i Passed out, standing up, the other night....at which point i put down the dremel, and went to bed, only to wake up the next morning, and find the dremel still running in my shed!!!

Has the old H1N1 been confirmed with throat swabs? Have you had your anti viral meds?
Lots of hysteria with seasonal flu being labelled "Swine flu".

Daughter just got diagnosed with scarlet fever. Something I thought didn't exist in the last 100 years. WRONG! Some reading finds its not all that uncommon and its not what I thought it was. She is also on the mend. . . :thumbup:
