Never heard of riding shoes. I wear boots. These get me through all 4 seasons just fine:

Ive been needing a pair of riding boots or shoes, short distance I wear my nike airmax's and long distance I wear either my double H's or my combat boots

I like them because they've got the air vents for summer, yet are big enough in the right areas (right on top of the foot) that I can throw a small foot warmer right in back of the vent to block the air (and keep my foot warm too!)

Though when my leathers come back I might have to shop around for new boots too! :D

at highway speeds my non-ventilated all-season boots works fine. but I'm planning to compromise safety a bit and use hiking shoes when driving into cities. at worst it may result in some foot injury, but when the sun is too much I want to be able to make a quick stop and not have this heavy gear.
