When i was racing stand up Jet Skis, you could get another 100ft/lbs of thrust with just 50cc increase thats stealth the others shook their hesds over... :ban:
My 650 was a 700 and was ported, big intake, reed cages, carb, exhaust, new head, and picked up about 10 mph over stock plus some holeshot grunt. So, I'm not opposed to some mods if the gains are there.
Fwiw; my buddy spit out a crank every year with some form of failure. He had some bad luck! So i hear ya about workmanship!
