Stock tire life

At 2.5 k my rear dunlop had a slice so I replaced both as there wasn't much more than 800 mile left anyway. After that I blew thru a set about every 4k miles. Living in the twisties and riding hard never helps tire wear but oh baby it's fun!

I got about 8500 miles out of mine. I only ride twisties occasionally and don't ride exceptionally hard. Lots of bopping around town and touring otherwise. I switched to Pilot Road 2's.

when i bought my bike it was still on bt 020, previous owner said he changed but the compound already turned very hard so i didnt really believe. if what i believe is true, the tyres travelled about 29,000km before i changed, something i dont advise anyone to do.
my mechanic told me if i am waiting for the threads to wear off before changing, i can wait until 40,000km and the threads will still be there.

I've got 7100 miles on the stock BT020's. they have served me pretty well (had the bike since 2800 miles). The front is almost on the wear bars and looks to have mild scalloping but still works ok although I don't push it very much. The rear looks much better with quite a bit of tread still left even down the middle. the rear has a flat spot up the middle to be expected but really can't feel it entering the corners. Hoping I can finish out the season on these tires and get a new set for spring. Right now it would be a toss up between the BT023 and the Pilot Road 2CT.

I have about 8,400 miles on the stock BT-020's. Both tires are getting close to the wear marks, and the front is cupped. I'm planning to finish out the summer on the stock tires, and get some new ones next year.
