Stalling after 6 months no use

Hi Guys,

Just rode my fz6 after 6 month in my garage, was alll fine apart from when warm it stalled a couple of times and the enigne note seemed to be a bit deeper than normal when hot??

Any ideas??

Should I run some redex through it or something?? Clean out fuel tank etc..??

When you didn't ride it did it have fuel stabilizer in it! I would at least put some fresh fuel in it and maybe a little injector cleaner?

I agree with what nccoder said. Who knows what got gummed up in there.

Also, not sure who prepared the bike for storage -- is the oil good? if not, change it too. Not sure that will help the stalling but bad oil is never good.
Hopefully, the battery is fully charged and healthy too.

Ride it relatively aggressively (regarding throttle and high RPM) and if it does get better, it will probably be after a few tanks of good fresh gas mixed with the injector cleaner. Hopefully things will clear soon.

Thanks guys, I think the battery is goosed so guess that wont be helping.

Going to run some injector cleaning fluid through it and swap battery tomorrow so fingers crossed

Siphon out the old gas if it was not stabilized or smells stale. Chevron "Techtron" or Seafoam both work very well.... It'll take some time to work and clean the injectors/etc up.

^^^^ This is good advice.

Do a serious full vehicle inspection. Check for mice nests in the air box, and exhaust. Drain all of the fuel and use seafoam or techron with NEW fresh fuel.
How many miles on your plugs?

Redex would be a good move, and getting the battery changed as this may well be causing some issues.

Hi Guys,

I bought the bike from a friend as he wasnt using it, hence the 6month ride gap.

I have since changed the battery and run a fresh tank of fuel through.

The Bike now starts first time and seems fit as a fiddle

My mate did drop the bike in his garden and the frame is scratched, is it possible to buy the silver paint and touch up?
