Spring tool

I am looking for a heavyduty (not the cheap 5-10buck crap) spring tool for removing the side and center stand springs. Anybody have a good source?

oh i wish i had that when i was installing the givi engine guard. took me awhile and lots of swearing to do it by hand lol

Thanks for the try but this tool can be had at half price on other sites. Motorcycle superstore is high on their pricing and reviews have it as poor quality hook end.

One of the FJR boys suggested using a Trampoline spring too. Google it, about $8.00 with shiping and much stronger than the exhaust spring tools.
Another idea was a piece of rope with a wooden tT handle. I may try this first as less likely to scratch the painted spring.

Drum brake tool set

The last time that I removed / reinstalled my centerstand, I just used the tools in my el-cheapo harbor freight drum brake tool set. Remember that the puller is only half of the problem. Getting the spring back on is a pain too, and a tool like in the drum brake set works nice. (I'm talking about the shaft with a notch in the end that fits over the spring post.)

I'm also very thankful that all of my vehicles (Sienna, Silverado, Trans-Am) feature four wheel disc brakes. Boy do I hate working on drum brakes....
