Thinking about touring, needing cheap luggage. Looking at purchasing soft saddlebags but im concerned that the strapping, if fed between the seat and exhaust heat shield, will melt. Does anyone ride with one fitted as such?

Thanks,

X

Loads of guys have soft luggage. No one has reported any melting problems to date.
Nelly
I have Oxford soft luggage, it really good + expabdable.
Do a search on luggage and more info will come up

Here is a thread about soft saddlebags. I bought the Speedstar bags and am waiting for them to show up. I think they look good, are very cheap, and are heat resistent.

You beat me to it, I should contact that guy and see if i can get commission for trying to sell his bags... you should not have any melting issues at all with the straps, Unless you have them right against the exhaust or midpipe then you won't melt.
