Rightio you lot, Summer is abut upon us, and this great brown land of ours just begs to be ridden around, across, over, etc...

Now, of course i know a few of us Aussie forum members are pi$$ing off to Tassie in March next year, but what about the rest of ya's, is there any plans to do a bit of "touring" over the next few months???

And Kazza, Prebstar, Humpy, what about you lot, do you plan on getting a few long rides under your belts befcore the mega k trip to Tassie???

Mikey, you planning on pi$$ing off for some fishing again?

Oz, do you reckon you might take your new steed on a long cruise or two???

Stumbles....are you going to escape the rat race on the bike at any stage?

Disco...what about you?

Dunno, apart from trackdays, and commuting, do you and the missus plan on any touring???

Jay Jay...do you reckon you can spare some time away from your servers???

Spook, you gonna drag that lil Ninja out for a longer run???

What about you, Kriswithak, you must be due to get away from the crazyness that is Sydney???

I wonder what Cameron (Bikebiz) is up to, he has been very quiet lately??

Jules, you ever gonna dust off the cobwebs on your bike? or did you end up selling it, i cant remember???

There's quite a few more of you i aint mentioned...

But c'mon people, tell us about your plans for this summer on our great Aussie roads.

We're planning trips to Albany, Hyden and possibly Kalgoorlie.

I really need to bring up a lot of kms before Tassie :)

Oh yeah, Mike will be coming too ;)

Yes, the more time in the saddle the better, nothing like getting in the "groove"....

I plan on making plans :BLAA:

I've just got no idea where I should go or what roads to ride :(

Never been touring, don't have any gear, have no idea at all.

Help and advice would be loverly :D

Go to google, check where all the good roads are near you, pick a destination somewhere near the end of that route, get some decent gear, turn off your phone and ride....at whatever pace you like, with as many detours that take your fancy...stop as much as you like, enjoy the ride...

Hopefully some of the guys from around these parts will know what the go is.

I've got one of the old motorcycle atlas's hanging around here somewhere too, that might come in handy

The Motorcycle Atlas would be a good first point of call....Australian Road Rider mag is good too, always has lots of great rides to read about.

Pre and post summer touring is the go for me. Mild temps, so I can live in my gear the whole time, and hopefully no rain.

Looking to be changing jobs pretty soon though, which will hopefully see me with more cash, and time off in bunches, instead of the usual weekends.:cheer:

But first and foremost is trying to hammer the mortgage down some:rolleyes:.

In the meantime....there are always new lean angles to explore:D

That down under side of the globe we call "The Northern Hemisphere" can get pretty cold and snowy in the months coming up.:BLAA:

Up top here, we can ride all year round:D.

Curse you Aussies!

I'm starting to have a little problem as the snow is about to start falling and I haven't reached my 10K mark...

Alot of it is work dependent :spank: (only started new job beginning of Aug)

But it does look highly likely will be making it to the Hunter Valley for a few days. Early next year hope to go back out to the gemfields of Qld (back into the stinking hot tropics).

Other than that, my usual day rides (which have been lacking alot this year), hope to get one in this weekend if there is money left over after dealing with the Ten's little **** up yesterday.

I have 1 question for you aussies, which way does your water spin in your bowl when you flush? Clockwise like us, or conter?

Sorry one more, did Crocodile Dundee really exist, or was it just the crocodile hunter?

Yeah, what about me?
2,000 klicks planned from 20 Nov with membro on his antique 1980 BMW R100S
Heading to Cooma via South Gippy Highway and Lakes Entrance, Eden.
Then 2 days at Cooma, Home via Mt Kosiosko.
Getting some pannier racks fabricated before then, as i leave the things on all the time now.
Swapping to Motul semi synthetic for the trip and will be looking at Pilot Road 2's shortly in the new year. Maybe brake pads as well.
Yeah, winter up in the Northernm Hemisphere, hope it aint a cold one like ours this years folks.
Rumps

Well last summer me and spook went to Vic to ride the GOR remember?

Spook is now in a new job and he cant take leave until 12 months after start date.

I took 3 weeks of recently due to the op so my leave accrual is low.

However...a 2-3 day trip could be the go. Just a matter of picking some nice place to go to and stopping there the night.

After spending the past 2 years at work every Saturday, I now have an assistant and have Saturdays off, so that means back into touring mode again, yippeeee.
I plan on doing a couple of the Iron-Butt rides and a few big rallies up north.
