Snow and winter = garage and mods

Hi everybody!
I've been reading and getting advice from this forum for some months now but this is my first post.
Got my blue 07 fz6 n s2 in june this summer together with my license and I've been riding every day since. As the winter is getting closer and the riding season ends I'm starting to think about how to mod my darling. I want to give the bike less of a grandpa look.
For now I've decided/done the following:

-Fender eliminator without turn signal (ordered and shipped)
-Rear LED light with clear glass and integrated turnsignal (mounted)
-Blue drag bars (mounted)
-Bar end mirrors (mounted) cheap ones from ebay, want the spiegler mirrors
-Frame sliders (mounted)
-Spiegler brake lines in the front (thinking about it)
-Crg clutch and brake levers (thinking about it)
-Exhaust with sound.. Two Brothers CF cans? (thinking about it)

I've also been thinking about rising the rear suspension with about an inch or two to give it a more aggressive R look but I am afraid about how this will affect the handling. Anyone got experience with this?

Gonna post some pictures soon and I hope to get some feedback and opinions on what I should do.
PS: I'm from Norway so sorry if my English sucks;-)

Hi Norge. I don`t know about raising the bike but if you do a search for "Lowering" a few threads will come up which may help you find the raising links you need.

Raising the rear will change the dynamics of the handling. When you raise the rear, the bike will corner much better and tighter, almost falling into the corners. It does, however, have the adverse effect of making the bike less stable on straights. Raising the front (or lowering the rear) has just the opposite effect where straights are glider smooth and you run wide in the corners as the bike is harder to lean.

Rather than raise the rear, you can, for free, drop the triples by sliding the forks up in the clamps to achieve the same effect. I would not recommend more than 30mm showing above the top triple without installing a solid steering stabilizer though.

Started to think about a DIY riser kit for the rear. What if i mounted two steel brackets onto the original mount to get it raised about 1-2inches? Can`t see a problem with this as long as I make it solid enough. Let me know if you have an opinion.

When I was looking into what type of aftermarket exhaust I wanted, I went to YouTube and watched videos with audio for FZ6's that had installed exhaust such as Leo Vinci, Two Brothers, Scorpion etc. Ended up I had Scorpions installed. I liked the way they sounded when I heard them on the web.

I don't think our friends at trafikkstasjonen/biltilsynet would say anything about this modification.

Just remember to adjust your headlights after raising the back of your bike, or you will have lowered your beams by quite a bit. If you raise the back by 1", you effectively lower your front beams by approx. 1" for every 2 meters forwards in front of your bike, so at 10 meters distance your light beam will be 5" lower than before. (ok, this is just an approximation, but you get the picture)

I got my FZ6 lowered at Yamaha Vinterbro, and they made sure to adjust the headlights after lowering both the front and back.

Hey! Nice bike. I'm also from Oslo btw.. I've got some black ASV levers with red adjusters for sale if you're interested. I believe the adjusters can be swapped out if you want blue ones instead. They were only on my bike for one season before I traded it in recently. PM me if there's anything you want to know.
