I quit smoking cigarettes 7 yrs ago...Still enjoy a nice kush J. I find that smoking a nice fatty after work(I get off at 10pm) helps me unwind....:D

Yup, another smoker here, (cigarettes). Smoked for years, gave up for 2.5 years, then took it up again.

I blame the missus, I was coping ok with the giving up, but she never handled it and started again. Only took a few days, and then I started again.

:)

nope don't smoke, and I think a total ban would be a great idea

*ducks* :)

:ban: A complete ban right now would be great!

I am currently a smoker but am planning on stopping in the very near future as my wife is about to give birth (5 weeks time give or take) to our first child. I will then be at home for 1 month and will take advantage of not being at work to give up smoking. I smoke mostly at work and down the pub.

Been addicted to ciggies for as long as I can remember. Tried loads of times and methods to give up. Thr best I've managed is 5 months. I wish I could find a successful way:(

Yesterday was 6 weeks of not smoking. I still feel like a smoker without cigs though. The ride to Niagara Falls was HARD, 1/2 the people smoked, I just about mugged a guy because he was smoking my brand...he didn't know how close he came to losing his hand!
And , occassionally, I smoke "other" when playing the PS3

I smoke about a pack a day when im deployed. As much as i want to quit i cant do it in Iraq. When im in the states i only smoke when a bunch of friends are all togetherhaving a few drinks of choice a cigarette always seems to appear.

And i smoke cigars every once in a while with friends

I used to smoke two packs a day, that was about eighteen years ago. No I enjoy a good cigar every once in a while. What I really like about the cigars is the atmosphere that I am usually in while smoking. Smoking a cigar watching TV is not good, but being in a relaxing place with friends and a drink, good.:smoking::iconbeer::thumbup:Nothing like a good Monti Cristo #2. I prefer the Dominican, the Cubans Monti's are way too strong.

Nope, nada, none, never! Cannot understand this habit at all. It makes zero sense to even start.

If you're going to smoke, get something FROM it. I used to enjoy mj in the day, but haven't had any of that for 22 years now. House and cages are smoke-free and not allowed period.

Never had the urge to smoke cigs, never understood the appeal. Shorter life, wasted money, horrible smell that stays with you? No thanks. I will occassionaly smoke a nice cigar on poker nights or on the golf course. And of course there was the "other" back in HS, but thats about it.

I smoked for about 17 years and then finally quit around 7 years ago now. I still have urges to have a smoke.

I don't think they ever go away, it's not the nicotine crave anymore, to me it's more the remembrance of how good it was in under certain circumstances, such as drinking or driving. Driving was the killer for me.

Coffee is the killer for me! As I only quit 6 weeks ago, I have yet to have a coffee before noon...breakfast of champions...coffee and a smoke.

When I quit I went from Coffee and a smoke to Coffee and a donut and a donut and a donut and a donut, before I realized it I gained 30 pounds:eek:.

I am not sure whats better smoking or the extra weight.:don'tknow:

:rof: I had lost 40lbs when I quit smoking, within 3 weeks I had gained 14lbs back...I said if I hit 15 I was going to start smoking again. I would rather be a thin(ner) smoker than a fat non-smoker. Luckily I never hit that point, and now I am back down to only 2 lbs up from start weight.

No smoking here. When I used to go out and drink with my friends, they were smokers so occasionally I would try to have one. just never liked it. and the next day with a hangover and you still smell like the bar, EWWWWWW. I have dabbled in the other back in school.. but I never really liked that either, I don't need to have that to enjoy a batch of brownies lol

My husband used to use copenhagen, but one day we forgot to stop and get it (the one place that had good fresh cope) and he decided then to quit. And has not gone back since.

Both parents and one sibling smoke(middle child syndrome?), me and my other 2 siblings never did. My parents get upset we don't visit, but after every visit I have to come home and shower because the smell in my hair and clothes makes me sick.. usually we both shower after visits ;)

When I had kids, I knew that I was the best roll model they would have, so no drinking (in the house, and rarely even on special occasions) and definately no smoking in our home or cars.
