small slit in my rear tire (battlax bt016r)

Hi everyone, I recently noticed a very small slit in my rear tire, right in the very center of the tread. it's about half a centimeter in length. I don't think it punctured, but I am a daily commuter and am about to leave for a small roadtrip tomorrow and need to know if it's something that needs to be replaced immediately. I was wondering what more experienced riders would do in this situation, if the tire integrity is compromised because of a minuscule slit. It's not in the grooves of the tire, but I am just worried I could get a flat while riding, something I don't want to deal with.

i would be more concerned about the DEPTH of the slit rather than lenght, a small slit like that that is not deep will not compromise anything on the tyre, if it is fairly deep you might lose air.
