sidelight bulbs 600 s2 ??????

Hey, does anyone know the part number of side lights on fz600 s2..( daylight running small ones) ...what the bulb is called etc, i am ordering some xenon ones and the supplier seems pretty clueless as to what fitment size and type they are.???? mucho thanks for your help:BLAA:

I would pull the lamp. The front ones are generally a dual filament, 1 for running light and 1 for directional signal. On the rear they are single filament, no running lamp...If those are the lights I believe you're talking about.

I would pull the lamp. The front ones are generally a dual filament, 1 for running light and 1 for directional signal. On the rear they are single filament, no running lamp...If those are the lights I believe you're talking about.

Thier not in the US, but they have some really neat daytime running lights we don't have in the states....

I wonder how different the lense is to ours, could the be added to a US version? Just some new holes and wiring? They certainly add a bunch of visability...

I can't find a thread right now, but just get the bulb socket for about an 03 r1 and drill a hole in the open area on headlight. I ordered the parts a couple days ago. Of course we are required to have a headlight on so that could be why we don't get them state side.

I suppose we don't get them as our headlights automatically come on (IE-running lights).

The back of the reflector unit is probably marked where to drill... Too bad its not pre-wired like the Goldwings are (you add your accessories but the main harness has all the plug ins..)

Yes when I went dual light I noticed there is a flat spot on the headlight where the lights go. I really wish it had wire hookups but pretty sure thats not the case:banghead:. I'm not sure if they will add any visibility next to the headlight.

Those bulbs on Santi's bikes are certainly visable...

For wiring, especially if using LEDs, you could just tap into the running light wires of the front directionals..

I've got the podlights on my bike. R1 podlight sockets and little holes drilled into the back of the headlight. The US headlights have the spot for them, but the plastic just isn't drilled out, but there's a little nub as if they were meant to be.

The problem with wiring them up is that they're 2 wire, while running/turn signals are 3 wires.

I wired mine to the running lights(1 wire), and the turn signals(other wire). The result is All lights on for running lights, then when you turn on the signals, the turn signal and podlight "alternative" between eachother. I think it actually looks cooler and provides more visibility this way.

It seems the Suzukis have them as running lights and also an ignition switch position for parking lamps only and a highbeam momentary flasher switch on the clutch lever side.

Thanks, the 3 wire is a ground, a running light and the directional. It could easily be hooked up to the running light wire and ground but your set up sounds interesting....

I have installed some cheap white led "bulbs" for the sidelights and although they are a lot better than the original yellow bulbs, they're still not bright enough.
I have ordered a pair of Philips Blue Vision W5W that a friend of mine uses and highly recommended to me.
Those will be great along with the new Osram Night Breaker Plus H4 & H7 bulbs that I ordered! Anyone else using those?

I checked your bulbs and their 12 volts as well so no resistors/mods should be needed...

What I meant to say was, if you want to wire them up using running, turn signal, and ground wires AND have them operate like a 3 wire bulb, you would have to rig something up.

Have you had any luck with that Superlux LED in your picture? I burned through two seperate sets of that type of LED. They just don't last! I don't know if it's the vibration and/or heat, but they always end up flickering, then not lighting at all. I even had them hooked up to a controller to make them flash, in hopes of making them last, but still no go. I then tried some other LED's, and they were just too dim to be of any use. Even some 194 incan bulbs at 7 watts were just too dim. I've given up for now, but I'd love to find something that'll work in there. :banghead: Sucks, because the 1 watt LED's were really bright!
