Road Atanta Easter Weekend with NESBA

I had a successful track day Sunday. Pics are coming soon. The only problem I had Sunday was with my left Rizoma grip. I had the two hex bolts tight but I guess over the period of the the day they got loose and fell out because in a turn my hand and grip nearly flew off the clip-on. Lucky for me, I had mingled with other riders earlier in the paddock and was able to acquire a couple of generic metric bolts to replace the ones that had fell out.

As this was only my second track day ever with it being a year since the last track day, I am still learning A LOT!!!! And in comparison to last year when I ran my bone stock FZ, I've got mixed feelings. For body positing, the Vortex clip-ons and Rizoma rearsets I have are absolutely the greatest  but running without the front fairing not so much. For riding around town, to-from work, etc... riding naked maybe fine, but man on the track the force of the wind running naked is no joke and I found it challenging with the lack of aerodynamics.

And believe it or not, I wasn't the only FZ6 there as I met a fellow FZ owner (Tom from Loganville, GA). You guys should have seen it. Tech opened at 7AM and here it was about 7:25 or so, after I had passed tech, and here comes this guy riding in on a bone stock FZ with the mirrors on, no tape on the bike what so ever. It wasn't prepped for the track at all in other words. I said to myself, "that guy surely isn't riding today". But to my surprise, a car pulls up next the the FZ and into the trunk of the car Tom went to get a few tools to start preparing the bike for the track. And what do you know, at the riders meeting at 8AM, there was the FZ. Tom, I don't know your username but man you are one brave dude to do what you did.
