I got a 2006 Fz6. What is the stock rim size? Im reading some places that its 17". Im measuring 18". It does not say on the rim or the owners manual...

The tire size is 17 and the rim dimensions may be where the bead on the tire fits the rim on the inside.

I'm seeing only 1 post from you so :welcome: to our great forum!

A 2006? Not sure.

But I do know the rim diameter will decrease exponentially when in a front end slide.

If you look at the tire dimensions you will see the tire rim size is in fact measured at the minor diameter of the tire bead. Since the edge of the rim extends beyond the bead the outer wheel diameter (bead lip) will measure larger than the 17 inches diameter. :D

Interesting that the other dims. on a tire measurement are metric but rim sizes are in inches.

Hi guys ! I want to ask you about the specifications of the front rim of yamaha FZ6 2005 ? And i was told that the rim of our bikes is the same as the rim of yamaha R1 and R6 2004 . Is that true ? I'm asking becouse my rim is crashed and i need a new one . But i want to buy a second hand rim . So i want to know can i use a rim from another model of yamaha motorcycle (and witch model and year do i have to look for ) or i have to surch for a rim from a FZ6 ?
