Returning after 28yr absence

Greetings guys,
Just getting back in the game after two bad road rashes and associated broken bones after 28 years. Grew up on what are now "dual sport" bikes although we called them "Enduro" back then.....Man have bikes,handling and safety equipment advanced since those days. Heck if the jacket & helmet I now ride with was available back then I probably would have walked away from both of the bad ones. 2007 FZ6 (Blue...the only color worth riding LOL). Got it for a song with less than 2k mi on it because the owner (a buddy) got a bigger bike for a song and passed the savings on to me.....Couldn't pass it up. Wife just beginning to speak to me after a month and I'm having a blast!!!
Having issues with my throttle hand going numb on even short 25mi runs and not sure if it's vibration, bar height, wrong gloves or just still white knuckling the grips (most likely cause) so I'm working on alternatives.
S.E. Oklahoma where the roads have plenty of tight turns and long straight aways when the urge hits to "loosen the bridle" and let the girl run. Later guys.

Greatings and welcome back. For me a little less than your 28 years. Enjoy the blue one. Good choice, ok well the bile then. The collor will change when you get used to riding again and find out red is faster..........

28 years? That's 4 more than I. My last bike: 1971 Honda CB350 (actually was about 325 cc). Yeah, I know what you mean; bikes have dramatically improved/advanced in the interim. Well, cars have too. I remember when I bought my Honda CB350 Honda had just introduced its first car. It was the Honda 600 and it barely went. The Honda 750 had just barely been on the market (1970'ish?). The other "big" Japanese bike was the 2-stroke Kawasaki 500 (3 cylinder) Riders had a hard time keeping front down when on it. Yamaha had its 250 and 350 twin 2-stroke. I think the Yamaha 650 Special came out in mid 70's? Times have changed, alright.
