No way could Rossi have won the race, but it was probably one of the most important for him. He would have liked a podium, but just finishing the race would have been what he needed after the past 2 weeks.

He needed it for his friend Marco.

A way to show respect.

Bautista, DePuniet and Hayden (Hayden looks like he has a wrist injury) - all taken out first corner.

12 bikes to finish the race - disappointing to say the least.

Crappy accident....Bautista obviously going into turn one quite a bit hotter than Dovi, and Dovi moved over...racing incident. Crap that it took 4 riders out though...

Loved the finish, even if i would of liked to see Ben win another race..

Great season, which if nothing else, showed the doubters that Stoner is the real deal...

I can't say I agree with you, I have watched it over and over in super slo mo and Bautisa was on his line, Dovi came right and clipped him. Take the line by all means but at least be past the guy next to you.

Bitterly disappointed for Ben after Stacey chickened out of a 9 second lead but looking over his shoulder on the last lap was stupid. Concentrate on the race!!!

Racing incident agreed, but Dovi has some guilt in that one.

Mite start calling Ben the Sniper from now on. Just sits there watching & then picks them off one by one very decisevly :thumbup:

I didn't know who to cheer for over those last 3 laps, Ben or Casey :cheer: As you can imagine, pretty happy with the 1-2 :thumbup:

Your on the good stuff again....it started to rain, Casey had a few slides, so he slowed down, Ben got past, became Caesy's "feeler gauge", and Casey planned his overtake to perfection....

Havent seen you win 10 races in a season lately....or your over the hill buddy for that matter,..

Face it, Stoner is the best Moto GP rider in the World right now...

Ben, you were owned...and he knew it after the race....never the less, great ride from Ben...

Stoner said he hit neutral and that allowed Ben to overtake him. I think you're getting mixed up. I may be wrong but Ben didn't mention anything like that in the press conference I don't think.

As for the race itself, I think Bautista and Ducati are both cursed. I enjoyed watching both Dovi and Ben as well as Cal and Karl mixing it up. I'm glad Capirossi closed this chapter of his life with a successful race and best position for the season. Congrats to Stoner although I think Ben's fearless riding deserved the victory this time.

2011 was a ****ty season for a lot of GP riders. I'm glad it's finally over. On to 2012. I really wish my favorite Moto2 rider (Iannone) joins the MotoGP grid. He would be a very fitting replacement for Marco - another great Italian character and a fierce racer. I'm also pretty excited about the Suter-BMW team. I'm really curious where they stand compared to the rest of the bikes on the grid. Edwards will be riding the beemer but he's still recovering from his shoulder surgery. Does anyone know if anyone will replace him for the test on Tuesday?

We are forgetting that Casey has book ended the 800cc era.

Won the first 800cc race @ Qatar in 2007, wins the last one @ Valencia 2011. Quite fitting considering he has been the dominant rider over these 5 seasons :thumbup:




That grizzly subject has just appeared, who gets the keys to Gresini's HRC bike next year.........

Know who I would choose but don't exactly feel its appropriate to discuss just yet.

I reckon that very quietly, Dovi wishes he had not signed for Yamaha Tech 3 now! And I bet Rossi has had a similar thought about his Ducati contract.

Marco's ride is a highly valued gig...FACTORY Honda.

Before the nasty event, talk was Gresini would be 1 x HRC Proto for the great young man and 1 x CRT bike.

Maybe LCR is getting the HRC bike???? The Daz rumors were either RdP or possibly Alvaro popping up over there & aparently HRC have eyes on Alvaro.
