I was thinking (which is dangerous) about getting bars for the bike. I was looking at a couple of the clip-ons and other types. So i was looking at the bike to see what it would look like. So I loosened up the bars to see what it would look like in a more lower and sportier position, with bars lose i lowered them and liked it. So i left the stock bars on and repositioned the throttle and the clutch levers for everyday riding. I liked the way it fit, so for now i am going to leave the bars in the position, and it feels good (lazy and free). I will ride for a while and see how it feels.

Hi, in order to help in your experiment? I am 6'3", with long arms, & I found the stock bars were "curling" my wrists out at an uncomfortable angle. I tried a set of '06 FZ-1 bars, & fell in love. I will experiment with clip-ons soon... Converti-bars are a solution for variety, also. Hope this helps, & good luck, ready

I've set my bars at the same angle it sounds like you are talking about......just enough so that when fully right or left, they just barely DO NOT touch the tank. I like it and have been riding with it for about 3 weeks. I moved them back towards me, after originally speculating that I could move them forward (away from me). I found that when you reach a certain point, you cannot get them forward enough, without messing with the clutch and brake lines, to get that "sportier" stance, because as you roll them forward, then also go upward.
One downside, is that I've lost the ability to "LOCK" the front wheel....., but since I use a lock.......

Clip-ons seem the most logical at some point......but then you run the trouble of clearance of hitting the tank(?)

i have seen some mod's for the bars but, i can see the clip-ons clipping to the forks, but those dam risers look stupid. Or do i have it all bent out of shape. I would love to put clip-ons, but does the triple tree stay or go, and if the risers stay it would look stupid. Please i have it all wrong i would be great full.

In all the pics I've seen for FZ6 clip ons, they are attached to the forks, with the remainder of the risers......(looking stupid). There must be a way to remove and/or modify the riser portion, but I'm still new to this......

Im 6'2" and had the problem with my wrist being in a weird position with the stock bar position, I also rolled the stock bars down and it helped but i have sense gone to the stock FZ1 bars and LOVE them.
