Radiator Paint

While looking at my radiator, when trying to fit the radiator guard from another thread, I noticed that the painted black areas down either side of the radiator on the front face appear to be bubbled / raised, by the looks of it it's the paint lifting off the radiator, presume water has got in somehow and caused the paint to flake off.

Anyone else got this issue and is it likely to cause any problem, I don't think it will corrode as the sides look as though they are aluminium.

Any thoughts?

Shouldn't be anything to worry about. Chances are that a previous owner painted it and didnt use a high temp paint so now it is starting to come off.

Mine has done the same, but the black paint has actually started peeling off. Not really a big issue. Was thinking of repainting mine.. And suggestions on what paint to use?

I would consider fitting a Radiator cover to solve the paint problem.

Sperex engine enamel will cure it- that and some elbow grease and sandpaper
