R6 or FZ6

Hey anyone,
Does anybody out there ride an R6? Do you like the FZ6 better than the R6 or the FZ6? I got ot ride an R6, same power like the FZ6 but the handle bars and the feel of the bike is certainly different than the FZ6. Anybody with any ideas on how to get accustomed to the feel?

I rode a 03 R6 last week. It rocks. Takes alot of getting used to though. I kept hitting the tank with my arms in slow speed turns. It was fun, but the FZ fits me better. Much much much more comfortable.

I made mine into an FRZ6, sort of... I like the position of the FZ for everyday, less aches and pains, and a much better view of traffic and much, much better for longer trips, ie: over 20 miles...

The r6 has the power and fun but my FZ to me definitely handled better and I felt comfortable going around the corners. The R6 seems limited to me making a turn, I really think it's just me and my inexperiance but any ideas, I would appreciate much..

Scoot your butt back on the seat. if that dont work, then just ride ride ride

The R6 is quicker, no doubt about it, and it will go quicker round corners, but oh my god its painful to ride. Had a go on my mates 2008 for about 5 miles and i got the distinct feeling my entire body would be dead after a decent ride.

Very small bike, im only 5ft 10 slim build but i felt kinda big on it. Dont get me wrong its an outstanding bike, i would have one in a heartbeat as a trackbike, but i wouldnt swap my fazer for one for use on the road

The R6 isnt that much quicker on the road unless you are going above 110mph or so, the fazer is just as quick upto those speeds then gets left dead

I see most of the supersport bike riders around here riding in the left hand on the hip position.

It's a matter of preferance with me, I'm an old guy, with aches and pains. I really cannot ride the R6 for any length of time, but I can't seem to stay off of my Fz6. I've tried both and prefer the Fz6, GRUMPY

From what I read, the R6 is one of the most uncomfortable supersports. The GSXR and CBR supposedly are slightly more comfortable for street riding. The R6's biggest strength is its looks. But, if you are uncomfortable riding, what good are the looks for? Check out the '07+ FZ6. There is some difference in comfort (seat is supposed to be better and different front fairing). The FZ6 universally gets praise for its comfort. I only sat on an R6 and it is not a bike for me for sure. Heck, the new R125 which is not availabe in the states is the exact same size. It is a small bike.

Depends a lot on your riding habits, age and tolerance for pain. But why bother being in pain while your ride? Get the FZ if your average ride is over 30 minutes. Otherwise feel free to get the R6. (posted by an ex GSXR owner)

Okay, lets change up the senario a little. How about the R1 versus the F Zed 6? Obviously the power difference is huge, but how about riding position...

I opted for the FZ6 because I'm an old fat guy trying to look young. I would like to have the power of a litre bike on my next one tho. I prefer the look of the under tail exhaust hence the R1 over the FZ1. My only fear is that my gutt wont fit around the tank... that and I'll have to deal with a bunch of high strung ego freaks on a different forum.

Well i tried out my buds '07 R6 and its not for me, at all. I'm 6ft6 so i looked like i was on a mini bike. I felt like i was way too foward, like my head was almost in front of the windshield, haha. But its got mooore power & speed than FZ6 plus it corners 10 times better (i've seen it in action) Its true i think the R6 & R1 are the least comfy for street riding, they are track bikes first then street bikes, Gixers & CBRs are better!

I learned on the R6 and have ridden it since getting the FZ6. It feels smaller, lighter, and less stable to me. Obviously much less comfortable and faster but for me it just didn't have the same "substance" and the FZ. I don't feel as confident on it, the steering is much "looser" feeling, to me anyway. It's a great bike, looks really good, goes great around the track but for me I'd rather have the FZ. A big part of it is that I'm used to the FZ so going back to the R6 was just weird, it felt so small and touchy.
