r6 exhaust?

I'm sure it could be done but what the end result will be in terms of performance is hard to tell. Is it just the look you are after or is there something beyond that?
 
I am sure it could be done, but it would take a lot of work to make the back of the bike look right after removing the stock exhaust. The short megaphone exhausts do look cool but i am not sure if it would be worth the effort to do the change.
 
Yes you can fit it, with a fabbed bracket. One thing to think about is are you okay with the two huge holes you will create under your seat once you relocate the exhaust? One dude did this mob and ended up converting the back of the back with and R6 seat, rear fender, etc.

Its you bike, obviously, but think about the time, effort, and money to do this. As others have said a nice used R6 might be the way to go.
 
Some of you assholes shouldnt even be on here. I see alot of people ask questions about customizing bikes and the best thing you can say is "wouldnt it be easier to get an r6". I didint get an r6 for several reasons-i dont need power above 120, dont like fairing bikes, dont have the extra $2k, and dont like having my knees in my ears. Everytime someone has customizing question one of you has to chime in with advice to get another bike. with that said.

I am fabricating a custom sub frame that is short like a soft tail. It will be a one up when finished and wont need a underseat exhaust. Projected weight loss of 35lbs when all said and done, not to mention a sweet look. The exhaust is the only loose end. Im sure performance wouldnt be worse but ascetics would be outstanding.

OK, now I am confused. I'm trying to figure out what is being removed never to return and what is being added to replace it. 35lbs is a huge reduction. I can see losing 35lbs if the stuff never came back but after you remove things something will need to replace it and that has weight. When all is said and done the only difference will be the difference in the weight of materials being used. Heck, the entire cat back only weights like 14lbs and that new exhaust will only offset part of that.

Let me get this correct, you are saying that Vegas and I are a$$holes??? Wow. I wrote my post with no malice at all. Trust me I was being an a$$hole you would have known it, 18 years in the Army has taught me to be one when I need to.

Um, no they don't. Most people on here have been extremely hepful.
 
well things like rear pegs will be left off new sub-frame. The cowlings and bull **** hardware are gone as well. Average r6 exhaust is considerably lighter. I have also milled as much as I can off the frame. Magnesium rims help alot. Anything that doesn't need to be there or doesn't need to be as "hefty". 35 lbs sounds like alot and at first I didnt believe it. But after many calculations it should be with in 4lbs either way. Minimum 30lbs of loss. Think rat-bike with a decent budget. I really dont like the style of common fairing bikes. Granted fz6 is no race bike but what i will have when finished will look intimidating and have the balls to back. People forget that most race-modded bikes are built just like mine-in some ones home garage with parts fabbed for unique applications. It doesn't even take that much money- just good ideas. I have raced sleds for years and most bad-ass sleds i come across aren't the type that you can get aftermarket R/R parts for. They are thrown together much like this bike. If you've got so much experiance why do you ask any questions of us lowlife a$$holes on this Forum?

Alot of people do help. But what kind of advice is putting a fz6 in a R6. What the hell would that solve. Sounds like alot of people take the easy way out instead of re-engineering. Not trying to be a dick Hellgate but it is really flustering when you ask a simple question and people give you advice that has nothing to do with the problem. Its all about customization, not upgrading bikes. A true sport bike like the r6 is not suitable for my needs. Really its not suitable for anyones needs unless they are on the track. And I'm not. I want ascetics-not crazy performance. SO.....

Come hellgate-be civil with me as I vent and rant.
sleds are a whole seperate game in it self. Sleds are very very easy to mod compared to a bike like the fz6. This is my first big bike mod process so I am trying to learn as much as possible in a short time. Besides-even the most experienced builders(which I never claimed to be) run into snags here and there.
 
How about this shadows...your the new kid on the block around here and you're the one asking for help. Your thread is about doing something that on one on here has even attempted. Show me the rule that says every response to your question has to agree with you?

Hellgate and others here know their stuff and have CONTRIBUTED a lot to this froum. So when you say "some of these a$$holes shouldn't even be on here", keep in mind that 'they' have done a heck of a lot to help people and this forum out! Not to mention that's not up to you to decide.

who said anything about agreeing with me. That has nothing to do with it. And poking fun is great- if thats what they are doing-but its hard to hear sarcasm through text. I was really referring to vegas as an *******-not hellgate. All i am saying is dont suggest getting a different bike to solve a problem. I have noticed that this happens alot throughout the forum. I have learned alot from various threads here and would like to continue to so. Its just really discouraging to us "new kids on the block" when people blurt that **** out. Besides-your in my lane.
