Quick Stebel Horn Mount

i'd give it a try in the fairing. if not, and you are going to sell it, let me know how much it'd be to 27312. that's on my to-do list. but personally, since you have it i would look to see if you can mount it in the fairing itself. good luck.

..... this would also make an excellent excuse to upgrade the brake lines to braided units that have one line going to each caliper.......... that won't put the lines in the way of the horn.

Mine is an '05 and my Stebel is inside the left fairing,still loud as hell.I would at least have a look at that before you get rid of it .

LOL! Hey where else would I be able to store my Stebel Horn, HID controllers, HID ballastas, portable compressor, spare tire, extra battery and a cheese sandwich (just in case)?? :thumbup:

After giving it some more thought............and since ive already purchased everything i need i decided to keep the horn and figured id separate it so make the install in the fairing easier. Does the compressor really need to be vertical? I was thinking of putting the compressor on the existing horn bracket and mounting the horn in the fairing. Thanks.

They do recommend to have the comp vertical ,but I,m sure others on here have mounted it the other way without issues .

EDIT:for the record,my left hand side faring is pretty damn full now

well after some downright awful a$$ weather i was able to wire it up tonight just before the sun went down which is too soon here these days. Sounds awesome but the only thing left to do is mount the stupid thing somewhere!!! The compressor is mounted to the original horn bracket which is perfect. I tried mounting the horn with the plastic assembly intact, wrapped around one of the fork tubes. i used tie wraps and i thought i was a genius. That was until i turned the bars both way. :Flip::Flip::Flip: stupid fairing!!! i knew i shoulda bought a ducati!!!! i kid, i kid.

Back to square one. I might see about mounting the compressor inside the fairing and the horn to the bracket down there. I could probably figure out somewhere to bolt the compressor somewhere up top. What a pissa. But i know in the long run ill be glad i did it when all is said and done.

After much screwing around i opted to not try it into the fairing. Not enough room for me on the 09 combined with the fact that i might not be creative enough. This is where its staying as far as im concerned. The hose is away from the radiator cap and after spraying the aluminum rails that go on the radiator the horn doesnt stick out so much to the eye. Its mounted with Tie wraps which i believe should hold up. the horn is very secure. It will do and its facing the right way which is good. The compressor is mounted to the original horn bracket with plenty of room underneath it. Proof:
