I drop a football from a roof at 100m off the ground. Each time it hits the ground it bounces 3/5 of the height it fell.

How far will the ball have travelled on the 5th bounce?

It's obviously miles and not meters anyway. Besides, the question is bogus anyway - everyone knows that because of its oblong shape, a football will never bounce predictably :BLAA:

3/5(3/5)(100) 3/5(3/5)(3/5)(100)
(1) (2) (3)
100 + 2(3/5)(100) + 2(3/5)(3/5)(100) + 2(3/5)(3/5)(3/5)(100)
+ 2(3/5)(3/5)(3/5)(100) =
100 + 600/5 + 1800/25 + 5400/125 + 16200/625

= 361.12m

As for metres, get with the modern world guys  And footballs - they can be round too :D

Have a good weekend
